Taylor Swift’s ‘Fearless’ Officially Most-Awarded Country Music Album ... Ever
Taylor Swift may only be 20-years-old, but her standout sophomore album Fearless is officially the most awarded country album in history, reports Rolling Stone. Taylor’s six-times-platinum album, the follow-up to her eponymous debut, notched its 10th consecutive Top 10 Hot Country Song earlier this week. The singer was honored by her label, Big Machine Records, in Nashville. The Boot reports that Fearless is the only album in country history to be named Album of the Year at the Grammys, as well as Country Album of the Year from the Grammys, the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the American Music Awards. Whew!
With the news that Swift has 10 consecutive Top 10 country singles, Taylor becomes the only female artist in the history of the Billboard country chart to score at least five Top 10s each from her first two album releases (Brooks & Dunn and the Dixie Chicks are the only artists to have already done so). Taylor Swift touched down in the country musical capital of Nashville earlier this week, reports The Boot, to celebrate the success of her four No. 1 hits off her standout sophomore album Fearless. Speaking to executives from her record label, Big Machine, her producer Nathan Chapman and other supporters, Swift said, “I just hope you know how happy you’ve made me. I never expected I would get to stand up at awards shows as much as I have over the last year for this album. I’m so happy I was allowed to make the album I made. And, I’m proud of the people this happened to along with me. This was not wasted on us. We all appreciate it so much. We’ve had a lot change for us.”
Swift also joked to the crowd, “I’ve seen a lot of you get new cars but other than that, you’re the same people I’ve always known.” Swift is wrapping up her current Fearless tour with openers Kellie Pickler and Gloriana. Her trek comes to a close on April 1 and the singer is working on the follow-up to Fearless.
