Taylor Swift Among Top 20 on Pollstar’s Weekly Touring Ranking
Pollstar’s Top 20 Concert Tours list, which ranks artists according to average box office gross per city and also includes average ticket prices for dates in North America, placed Taylor Swift at No. 14. According to The Associated Press, the list is based on data provided by concert promoters and venue managers. U2 earned the top spot on the list, while other artists included were Britney Spears, Rascall Flatts, the Jonas Brothers and Kings Of Leon.

Taylor Swift Teams Up with American Greetings
The Boot reports that Taylor Swift is pairing up with American Greetings to create her very own line of greeting cards, stationary, online photo personalization products, online greetings and gift packaging. The multi-talented star said of the project, to debut Spring 2010, “My idea of a great song is a song that says how I feel better than I could. I feel the same way about greeting cards. I’ve always been fascinated by feelings and how we express them to each other. Getting to write and design these cards is a wonderful experience.”
Gushed Chief Executive Officer at American Greetings Zev Weiss, “We are absolutely thrilled and honored to introduce Taylor as the newest writer and creative contributor to the American Greetings family. Her abilities as a storyteller and songwriter make her a natural at writing cards for consumers of all ages. Will Taylor Swift Appear on ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
Kevin Williamson, the writer and producer behind The Vampire Diaries, reportedly wants to recruit Taylor Swift to appear on the show, according to The Boot. When asked whether he would ask Katie Holmes (Williamson also created Dawson’s Creek) to star in The Vampire Diaries, Williamson said, “I think she’s got bigger fish to fry at the moment. My new obsession is getting Taylor Swift!” Williamson continued to tell the New York Post, “I’m desperate to have [Swift] come play a vampire. Wouldn’t she make an amazing Kirsten Dunst circa Interview With the Vampire type?”
Coincidentally, Taylor has been romantically linked to another Taylor, Taylor Lautner, recently. Lautner stars in New Moon: The Twilight Saga, the film inspired by the popular series of books that started the whole vampire craze. Taylor Swift has recently tested her acting chops, starring on Saturday Night Live, appearing in Hannah Montana: The Movie and also co-starring with Lautner in her first major big screen role in Valentine’s Day (set to hit the big screen in February).

Taylor Swift Still Claims She’s Single!
Reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift is rumored to be dating Twilight heartthrob and Valentine’s co-star Taylor Lautner, but The Boot reports that the singer is still claiming she’s single! In a quote obtained by PEOPLE, Taylor reportedly told In Style magazine, “He and I got really close. I’ve never thought it was a curse to be single. And at this point in my life, I’m in the mind-set where I choose to be single … I got to light scented candles and write in my diary. I wouldn’t have time for that if I had a boyfriend right now!” Boyfriend or not, both Taylors have been seen getting cozy off the set recently!
While Taylor Lautner joked that it was easy to pretend to be the other Taylor’s boyfriend onset, saying “Taylor is hilarious. It was definitely not hard to play her love interest!” Swift did reveal that it was a challenge having two Taylors on the set! Said Taylor (Swift), “They were like, ‘Taylor, on your mark—no, not you, the other one!’ So halfway through the shoot, I said, ‘How about you guys call me Swifty and call him Taylor?’”

Taylor Swift Earns People’s Choice Awards Nominations
On January 6 Taylor Swift is set to make an appearance at yet another awards show, the People’s Choice Awards. The People’s Choice Awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah and will air on CBS. According to MTV News the nominations (revealed last week) were determined by 18 million online votes and it should come as no surprise that Swift earned multiple nominations on the heels of her Entertainer of the Year win at the CMAs. Taylor will face off against Britney Spears, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood and Pink for the Favorite Female Artist title. In the Favorite Male artist category, Eminem, Jason Mraz, Keith Urban, John Mayer and Tim McGraw are all nominated.
The Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Taylor Swift are all up for Favorite Pop Artist while Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Mariah Carey, Usher and Beyonce are all nominated in the Favorite R&B Artist category. Other nominations include Favorite Breakout Artist, which will see American Idol alums Kris Allen and Adam Lambert duking it out against Demi Lovato, Lady GaGa and U.K. sensation Susan Boyle, and Favorite Rock Band, in which Daughtry, Green Day, Muse, Paramore and Kings of Leon earned nods.

Wynonna: Taylor’s Entertainer of the Year Win ‘Too Soon’
On Wednesday (Nov. 11), Taylor Swift was the youngest-ever artist to be named the Entertainer of the Year at the CMAs, and now former Entertainer of the Year nominee Wynonna Judd is speaking out against the 19-year-old’s win, reports The Boot. Prior to the star-studded Nashville event, a reporter asked Wynonna to weigh in on Taylor’s nomination and the singer bluntly told USA Today, “You want my honest comment? It’s too much too soon.” Wynonna was previously the youngest artist to be nominated in the Entertainer of the Year Category; Judd was 22-years-old when she and her mother Naomi scored a nomination in 1986. Recalled Wynonna, “Mom and I rode in a car for the first year of our career to visit radio stations. There was a making of the star, there was a rising up, and the fans went with us. Now it’s over coffee breaks, the success, almost. It’s like the girl who wins an Oscar and she’s under 20. What do you do from here?”
Wynonna clarified her somewhat harsh comments on her website saying, “I understand that my comment about Taylor Swift’s Entertainer of the Year nomination came across as a negative statement. My intent was not to take anything away from her talent and contributions to the country music industry … all of which are truly unprecedented for an artist of ANY age. Taylor is a beautiful, hard working young woman that deserves the success she has had and I support her as an artist and as a woman in the business.”

More History-Making for Taylor Swift at the CMAs
Taylor Swift became the youngest artist ever to win the Entertainer of the Year honor at the Country Music Awards last night (Nov. 11). The 19-year-old country crossover sensation also took home awards for Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (for her sophomore album Fearless) and Music Video of the Year (for her hit song “Love Story”). When accepting the coveted Entertainer of the Year award, a tearful Swift said, “I’ll never forget this moment because at this moment everything that I ever wanted has just happened to me.” During her acceptance speech for Female Vocalist, Swift poked fun at rapper Kanye West, who interrupted her during her VMAs acceptance speech, joking, “I want to thank every single person here tonight for not running up on stage during this speech.”

What Will Taylor Swift Perform at the CMAs Tomorrow?
Taylor Swift is nominated for four awards at the CMAs, to be broadcast from Nashville tomorrow night (Nov. 11): Female Vocalist, Music Video of the Year (for “Love Story”), Album (for her sophomore set Fearless) and the biggest award of them all, Entertainer of the Year. Everyone is wondering what song Swift will perform at the CMAs. The 19-year-old recently told the Boston Herald (as reported by The Boot), “I’ve gotten to perform almost every track on my album Fearless on award shows. Getting to perform ‘Fifteen’ at the Grammys when it wasn’t even a single was a great gift, so it’s interesting to think about what song to do this time.”
Although Taylor is no stranger to awards nominations, she did say that she is most proud of the fact the Fearless was recognized saying, “It’s made up of songs I wrote about feelings and things that have happened to me, and to have that honored in that category by the CMA is truly beautiful. Country music has been so diverse, and I love that.” On the heels of the CMAs Taylor will have another awards show to attend, as she is the most-nominated artist at the AMAs (with six nominations total!).

Taylor Swift Nails SNL Gig
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Taylor Swift proved to be this season’s best Saturday Night Live host so far.” The 19-year-old country crossover sensation hosted and performed on SNL over the weekend, and EW continued to praise her performance, which began with her singing “Monologue Song (La, La, La)” while strumming her guitar. The opening song saw Swift poking fun at herself and her penchant for penning songs about famous ex-boyfriends like Joe Jonas and also poked fun at the Kanye West incident.

Is Taylor Swift Taking Over for Ryan Seacrest?
No, it’s not what you think, Taylor Swift isn’t abandoning her singing career to become a radio disc jockey, but she will be filling in for Ryan Seacrest when he takes time off from hosting his weekly radio show American Top 20 during Thanksgiving time. The Boot reports that American Top 40 recently tweeted, “We want your questions for Taylor Swift! She’s guest-DJing the show. Call us? 1-877-AT40-FAN.” Seacrest, who is almost as busy as Swift, hosting American Idol and his E! nightly news show, also tweeted, “@taylorswift13 is filling in for me on @AmericanTop40 over Thanksgiving wknd. Call w/ ur ?s for her … she’s answer on show! 1-877-AT40-FAN.”
No stranger on the charts, Taylor Swift’s smash single “You Belong with Me” recently reached the coveted No. 1 spot on American Top 40. Taylor is slated to host and perform on Saturday Night Live tomorrow (Nov. 7) and will then travel to the country music capital of Nashville to perform at this year’s CMA Awards. Taylor is nominated in four categories, including Entertainer of the Year.
