Georgia Jagger Turns to Schoolwork

Georgia Jagger has emerged as the new face of several big fashion brands, like Hudson Jeans and Versace…but now the 17-year-old model wants to concentrate on her studies.  Her agent Tori Edwards said, “Georgia won’t be shooting anything else for the rest of the year.  I’ve known her since she was a little girl and school has always been her number one priority.  She is studying for her A-levels just now, so she has a lot of coursework, and until she is 18 she will just be focusing on that.”  Georgia was excited however, about her photoshoot with world famous photographer Mario Testino for the Italian fashion house Versace, currently run by Donatella Versace.

Keep an eye out for Georgia when she gets back into the modeling scene next year.  In the meantime…check out her dad and the rest of the Stones by going to StubHub and getting your own pair of Rolling Stones tickets!

Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter” in Stores

Need help deciding on a good Christmas gift for dad?  The digitally remastered Gimme Shelter documentary is now in stores and would surely make a great gift for any self-described Stones fanatic.  In 1969, filmmakers Albert and David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin were asked by the members of the Stones to film their American concert tour.  It began on a grand scale…at Madison Square Garden in New York City.  The show was electrifying, dazzling and a huge hit with spectators.  Unfortunately the tour would not end on such a glorious high note.  At the Stones’ performance at the Altamont Speedway in California, a man was murdered by a Hell’s Angel, supposedly on security duty, just a few feet from frontman Mick Jagger.

The DVD also includes commentary by David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin, as well as some never-before-seen footage.

Rolling Stones Wine

Perhaps when you think of the Rolling Stones, you think of a handle of Captain Morgan, a case of beer with a side of cigarettes.  But the Stones have apparently found their um…more elitist side?  The new Stones vintage is a 2007 Merlot and it is called Forty Licks.  The label features the iconic tongue and lips logo.  The wine made its official debut last week at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert, which took place in Madison Square Garden.  Wine-maker Mark Beaman said, “For the Forty Licks Merlot, I wanted to work with a wine that captured the essence of what the album was about.  Forty Licks, it’s forty tracks covering the Rolling Stones from the 1960s to just a few years ago is really a statement of timeless classic rock.”  Forty Licks retails for $50.97 for a 3-bottle case.

Ron Wood Divorcing After 24 Years!

Okay, so we all saw it coming…but now it is official.  Ron Wood and his (now) ex-wife Jo have been granted a divorce on the grounds of Ronnie’s adulterous relationship with Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.  The first stage of the divorce proceedings took place on Nov. 11 and it will become official six weeks from that day.  Ronnie and Jo were married in 1985, although they had been together for several years before tying the knot.  The couple has two children together and Ronnie played the part of doting stepdad to Jo’s son from a previous marriage.  Jo is getting a decent chunk of change from the split.  One of the big things that Jo is walking away with is the family’s $19 million Kingston, England mansion.

The Rolling Stones are not currently on tour…but rumors are swirling that the band will embark on a trek sometime in 2010.  Our fingers are crossed!  Get your Rolling Stones tickets from StubHub!

Versace Signs Georgia May Jagger

Mick Jagger’s daughter, Georgia May, has been signed on as the new face of Versace.  She is scheduled to front the designer label’s spring/summer 2010 women’s ad campaign.  Donatella Versace commented in nowmagazine.co.uk. that, “She’s smart, a strong personality, beautiful, full of energy.  With that natural high star quality, I adore her!  She’s perfect for this collection - a real Versace girl.”  Georgia May Jagger has been getting her feet wet in the fashion industry lately and fans can look for her in upcoming ad campaigns other than just Versace.

Georgia’s mother, Jerry Hall, was also a prominent model and her father is, of course, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.  While Georgia opted out of a singing career, make sure to see her dear old dad live onstage by going to StubHub and getting your own pair of Rolling Stones tickets.

Ronnie Wood’s Divorce Proceedings

Ronnie Wood has certainly graced the covers of plenty of tabloid magazines recently.  Of all of the mischievous Rolling Stones rockers, he seems to be the one attracting the most attention.  Ronnie and his wife Jo are now going through divorce proceedings.  Ronnie’s bizarre drinking and partying binge in 2007 left him paling around with a woman young enough to be his granddaughter.  Now they are a couple, which has led many people to scratch their heads in wonder at Ronnie’s poor choices.  Now Ron and Jo are officially divorced, with Jo citing Ron’s adultery as the main reason for their split.  While the divorce is not yet permanent, both parties are likely relieved that steps are being taken to finalize the matter.

Ronnie Wood may have issues in his personal life, but he certainly knows how to really rock.  See him perform live onstage by going to StubHub and getting your own pair of Rolling Stones tickets.

Mark Your Calendars For 2010

Even though it is not official, guitarist Ron Wood did hint that the Stones might be getting ready for their first tour in three years.  Wood apparently told BBC 6 Music, “It’s all very good.  I saw Mick and Charlie last week.  Everything is great.”  There are also unconfirmed rumors that the Stones are in negotiations to close out the UK’s Glastonbury Festival in late June of 2010.

Whenever the Stones decide to hit the road…it’s big news.  Their 2005-2007 A Bigger Bang world tour grossed the group over half-a-billion dollars.  Keith Richards says that it’s not to unthinkable that the Stones will keep performing until they die, “That has always been my point.  Ain’t nobody that complained that Duke Ellington or Count Basie and said, ‘Why are you still doing it?’ They did it all their lives. What is it—because I’m white and I play rock ‘n’ roll?  You know what I mean?  Otherwise, I’m just doing what all other guys who I follow—you know Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf.  You do what you do until you drop.  You know, you rock ‘til you drop.”

What About Your Ya-Ya’s?

November 1969.  Madison Square Garden.  You…the Stones and an unforgettable night of music.  Well, you can’t turn back time (unless of course you are Cher) but you can relive the moment by checking out the newly released CDs and DVD commemorating the event 40 years ago this month.  The Get Yer Ya-Yas Out DVD is a real treat because it includes live footage of duo tracks from Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and backstage footage of the band hanging with Jimi Hendrix.  Also included, is a meeting between Jagger and Jerry Garcia meet on the roof of a hotel.

It may no longer be the “summer of love,” or in this case the “autumn of love,” but you can still enjoy a live performance by the best classic rock band around.  Rolling Stones tickets can always be found at the best place on the web: StubHub

Jo Wood Waltzes on With Her Life After Ron

Jo Wood has had a difficult time lately, but she seems to managing quite well without her rocker husband, Ronnie (yes that same Ronnie who left her for a 19-year-old Russian cocktail waitress last summer).  Jo Wood came out of her shell when she signed up for the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.  Mrs. Wood lasted six weeks on the program and said that she had an enjoyable time even if she didn’t make it to the end.  Wood told the Montreal Gazette, “This show has given me a new start in life.  People keep asking me who my ideal man is, but I suppose it’s when you meet somebody and the chemistry is right…I have to experience life as a single woman, but I don’t want to be single for too long.”

Keep up with Jo and also with her husband, Ron, when he next tours with the Stones.  You can get Rolling Stones concert tickets today from StubHub.

Geogia May Jagger New Versace Girl

Mick Jagger’s 17-year-old daughter, Georgia May, has recently been confirmed as the new star of Versace’s forthcoming Spring/Summer 2010 campaign.  Georgia has already been following in the footsteps of her mom, Jerry Hall, who also famously modelled for the Italian fashion brand during the 1970s.  A spokeswoman for Jagger said, “Georgia is excited to be entering this new chapter for Versace and to be part of it reaching the new generation.”  There has been no word on the financial aspects of the modeling contract.

The blonde Jagger bears quite a striking resemblance to both of her parents and sports Mick’s famous pouty lips.  Georgia may has been involved in modeling campaigns with US jeans brand Hudson and Rimmel London cosmetics.  You can see Georgia’s dad rock it out live with the rest of the Stones by going to StubHub and getting you own pair of Rolling Stones tickets.
