Adam Lambert’s “Madonna Moment” at the AMAs

Madonna is known for her highly sexual (and often bisexual) performances, and it appears as if American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is taking cues from the Material Girl, as his performance at the American Music Awards last night (Nov. 22) was S&M-themed and even featured a kiss! After his controversial performance, Lambert told the Los Angeles Times (as reported by Metroweekly.com), “The energy felt good. Adrenaline is a crazy this to feel. That’s what I love about performing. I’m hoping people were entertained. For those who weren’t, maybe I’m not their cup of tea … It it’s gonna get edited, then in a way that’s discrimination. I don’t mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christa weren’t edited.” (Lambert was referring to Madonna’s performance of “Like a Virgin” at the MTV VAMs a few years ago in which she kissed both Britney and Christina!)

During his AMAs performance Lambert rubbed one dancer’s face in a suggestive area and also made out with one of his (apparently male but it was hard to tell) band members!

Hunter Recalls Britney and Madonna Video

Back in 2003, Madonna and Britney Spears appeared in the video “Me Against the Music” together. The video was provocative then, and it continues to be as fans look back. Paul Hunter directed that video, and he recalled to MTV what filming was like and said, “Madonna is an icon of an earlier generation, and then Britney of the newer generation. She was at her peak at that point. So it was a challenge to kind of bring both of the worlds together. I wanted it to be a bit of a cat-and-mouse sort of game and a little bit of a foreplay between Britney and Madonna and just sort of tease the audience.”

In the video, Hunter had a vision of how to bring together the legendary star (Madonna) and the up-and-comer (Britney). He said, “I try to play opposites, when you have Britney in dark and Madonna in white. And then we see them kind of dance around the bed ... and you think they’re gonna get on top of each other and do something crazy.”

Rocco Ritchie: Next Star?

So far, Lourdes has been the most visible out of Madonna’s brood, but a recent report says that it is her younger brother, Rocco, who has the most star power. According to China Daily, the report predicted which celebrity offspring would be Britain’s richest in 20 years. Nine-year-old Rocco topped the list, which ranked the kids in four categories: inheritance, talent, love of the limelight and star quality. Rocco scored a perfect 10 in each category. By his 30th birthday, Rocco is expected to be worth some £376 million.

Mark Frith, a celebrity expert, said, “Rocco will earn a fortune from his mother and a fair bit from dad. But it’s the other three rankings that power him to the number one place.”

Right behind him is four-year-old Cruz Beckham, son of former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and soccer great David Beckham. The Beckham’s other children, seven-year-old Romeo and 10-year-old Brooklyn also made the Top 10. None of Madonna’s other children were on the list, but Lourdes could give Rocco a run for his money. Madonna’s Childhood Home in Disrepair

Madonna is known for her many upscale homes around the world, but one of the homes Madonna made the most memories in has fallen in disrepair. It isn’t a home Madonna owns, but rather the house she grew up in outside of Detroit in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The home is owned by Tony and Juliet Dedaj, and they are set to appear in court because of the dilapidated condition of the home. The house has boarded up windows, among other violations of city ordinances. Why is the house in such disrepair? Depends on who you ask.

The couple claims to have unloaded $50,000 into home improvements, but now that Tony isn’t working, they aren’t able to keep it up. They also have insurance claims from a July 2008 fire that have yet to be paid by the insurance company. The insurance company, though, is speculating that the couple had a hand in the fire because of their financial situation.

Madonna Duets with MJ?

Is the Material Girl set to duet with the King of Pop? Despite his recent passing, news sites are reporting that Madonna is set to appear on a duet with Michael Jackson. It will reportedly be a part of a duets album that will feature many other artists as well. Other rumored collaborators include Britney spears and Justin Timberlake. The duet album is set to be created by Mike Blakey and include favorite Michael Jackson classics like “Beat It.” No word yet on which of Jackson’s hits will get Madonna’s treatment, but it is sure to be a fan favorite.

The album’s sales would fund Michael Jackson’s charity. It isn’t the MJ tribute album to benefit charity, as X-Factor stars also recorded his hits for charity. Madonna is known for contributing to charities she believes in. She also spoke out about Jackson’s legacy following his death. This project seems to be right up her alley, especially since she was rumored to be a guest on Jackson’s tour that was scheduled prior to his death. Madonna Raises Money in Brazil

The news reports were all over Madonna’s trip to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last week, as well as her plans to meet her 20-something boy toy, Jesus Luz’s, parents. It seems, though, that Madonna may have had other motives in traveling to the South American country. It is now being reported that Madonna was able to raise $11 million for her charity, Raising Malawi Foundation, while in Brazil. To raise the money, she met with Brazilian millionaires who donated to the charity. The most famous meeting and donation happened with Ike Batista, who is well known for his mining fortune.

Madonna was recently in Malawi to break ground on the school for girls she is building in the country. Madonna has adopted two children from Malawi, David Banda and Mercy James. Both of the adoptions caused controversy, but Madonna has been welcomed by country officials because of her philanthropic efforts on top of her adoptions. All of her charitable work is on top of her amazingly popular music career. Madonna Will Be Face of D&G Campaign

Madonna is known as a darling of many fashion designers—like appearing in a recent add campaign for Louis Vuitton—and it looks like that reputation is about to continue. Madonna is reported to be the newest face for the legendary fashion label Dolce & Gabbana. She will reportedly be a part of the 2010 Spring campaign. Working with the 51-year-old Madonna will surely be a break from the twenty-something models that normally are part of the campaigns.

One-half of the designing duo, Stefano Gabbana, took to his Twitter account according to Hindustan Times and wrote, “The campaign with Madonna is beautiful. I can’t say anything about it. We are at the last shot… Madonna is simply beautiful… We’re very, very tired but very happy as well… To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true.”

Madonna Likes ‘Em Young

Madonna is in Rio de Janerio, Brazil right now, reportedly spending some time with the family of her boytoy, Jesus Luz. It could get a little awkward, as the Material Girl is said to be 15 years older than Luz’s mother. Why does Madonna like younger men? A recent interview with Ryan Seacrest revealed her motivation.

The interview also may have inadvertently confirmed Madonna’s report that she never watches television, as she said she just learned the meaning of the term “cougar.” She said, “I love that phrase, just learned it the other day.”

She also revealed her benchmark for choosing the age of a mate and said, “As long as they’re old enough to dress themselves, they’re good enough. Younger people are more adventurous. Have you met many guys my age?  They’re usually grumpy and fat and balding.”

I am hoping that the Material Girl was kidding about how she picks the age of her boyfriends, as most elementary students have learned to dress themselves already. Madonna Almost Made Precious?

The film Precious has been sweeping the film scene recently because of its touching story, but a new report says that Madonna waned to produce the film version of the original 1996 novel, Push. The author of the novel, Sapphire, revealed, “There was this really earnest college student with his backpack on who wanted to do his first film, and then Madonna wanted to produce it. I was like, ‘Madonna? I don’t think this is her film.’” When the movie was finally made, it was put in the hands of famed producer/director Lee Daniels, who is most known for his work on Monster’s Ball.

Another pop star did land a spot with the movie as Mariah Carey has a role in the film. Another musician, Lenny Kravitz, also makes an appearance. Precious tells the story of the title character, an overweight girl who lives in urban New York City. Every part of her life has pushed her toward failure, but Precious then gets a new chance to succeed for the first time.

Madonna and Jesus Getting Serious?

Every so often, a rumor emerges that Madonna and her 20something boytoy, Brazilian model Jesus Luz, are about to get more serious. Another rumor about the Material Girl and Luz is on the radar, and this one has Madonna traveling to meet Luz’s parents and the two getting engaged.

A source told the Sun, “Madonna really does love and need Jesus - and she does not hold all the power in their relationship. He grew up with strong Christian beliefs… He wants to marry and be taken seriously. She doesn’t want to lose Jesus and so the visit to his parents is her way of saying she will make this relationship permanent. He wants proof of commitment and he wants her to make an honest man of him.”

If Jesus wants to marry Madonna, he may not want to hold his breath. Madonna said during her appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman that she would “rather get run over by a train” than marry again.
