Tim talks Faith - Again

By now it’s no secret that Faith Hill is what keeps the McGraw/Hill family together, and Tim McGraw will be the first one to admit it. Country music’s biggest power couple has undoubtedly endured some struggles since Hill and McGraw started dating in the ‘90s, but ultimately this is one husband-and-wife duo that the public wants to keep in the spotlight for positive issues rather than negative ones.

Tim McGraw recently had an interview with Parade.com, where he talked about growing up in the South, learning to play the guitar and, of course, his lovely wife.  Once again reiterating that it may indeed be Faith Hill who wears the pants in their relationship, McGraw spoke about Hill’s knack for organization and planning, saying, “In our family, my wife Faith Hill is very much in control of our life. She works out everybody’s schedule. I wouldn’t be able to function without her. So I can totally relate to a wife like [Sandra Bullock’s take-charge character in The Blind Side], and I feel that it is a blessing for me because I would be a mess without her giving me that kind of structure.”

Faith Hill Celebrates Adoption Events

This Saturday is National Adoption Day, and it’s rather ironic that the adoption-themed film The Blind Side, featuring Faith Hill’s husband Tim McGraw, comes out this weekend, as well. This is all a strange coincidence when considering that Faith Hill is adopted, bringing this holiday full-circle for her family. Faith Hill has been an avid spokesperson for adoption for many years, and she’ll undoubtedly be partaking in the festivities during Saturday’s National Adoption Day.

While Saturday (Nov.21) marks the 10th year since the inception of National Adoption Day, this year is also the 11th that CBS is featuring an adoption special on television. Hill has signed on for the second consecutive year to host “The 11th Annual Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill” television special, which includes several celebrity performances and inspirational stories about adoption. Other big names scheduled to make appearances at the Faith Hill-led CBS event next month include Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Jenna Elfman, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Michael Franti and Nia Vardalos. “A Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill” will air on CBS this Dec. 23, and the adoption special is just one of the ways in which Faith Hill contributes to the heartfelt cause.

Hill, Manager Split after 16 Years

Faith Hill just might be looking for new management very soon, as she said goodbye this week to her longtime business manager Gary Borman. Hill and Borman have been working together for the last 16 years, but Hill made the decision to dismiss his company, Borman Entertainment, in order to aid her career at the moment. In a press release put out by her publicist yesterday, Hill and Borman made a joint statement about the split, addressing the public by saying, “We are so proud of what we have achieved together over the past 16 years. We love each other like a sister and a brother but have made the difficult choice to dissolve our professional relationship.”

For now, then, Hill goes without management while Gary Borman and his own Borman Entertainment continue representing Music City outfits like Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban. What does this big split from her longtime business manager mean for Faith Hill? It could, perhaps, signify a pivotal turning point in Hill’s vocal career, so look for some big news from the Faith Hill camp to come out soon and be the first to see what the talented vixen does next!

An In-Depth Look at Faith Hill’s Week 10 Picks

Faith Hill hasn’t been doing so great at picking NFL teams to win games over the past couple weeks, and perhaps there’s more of an explanation for it than the vocalist picking her favorite Tennessee Titans to win every game. The NFL this season has been full of unexpected twists and turns as the league’s hottest teams change from week to week, and here’s how Faith stacked up after Week 10.

Hill correctly predicted only six games in her Week 10 picks, including the following:
- Miami Dolphins over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Minnesota Vikings over Detroit Lions
- Tennessee Titans over Buffalo Bills
- Kansas City Chiefs over Oakland Raiders
- Arizona Cardinals over Seattle Seahawks
- Baltimore Ravens over Cleveland Browns

Six out of 15 isn’t so great, but there were some upsets and very close games in Week 10 action (how about that intense Colts/Patriots game Sunday night?)  Some games that could have gone either way last week include the San Francisco/Chicago matchup (10-6 SF), Cincinnati/Pittsburgh (18-12 CIN) and New England/Indianapolis (35-34 IND). No matter what the outcome, Faith Hill is still “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” so stick around to see what Week 11 of the NFL’s regular season will bring!

Hill Defends Taylor Swift’s CMA Sweep

Faith Hill has served as a mentor of sorts for the young Taylor Swift, and when the 19-year-old hopped (literally) onstage to receive her Entertainer of the Year Award at last week’s CMAs, it was none other than Hill and husband Tim McGraw (after whom Swift’s debut single was named) who handed her the award. Now that Swift has been crowned the queen of country for 2009, however, controversy has been afoot, with several recording artists saying that Taylor Swift is too young to receive the Entertainer of the Year title.

While country music icons such as Wynonna Judd and Randy Travis have said it’s too early for the teen princess to take the CMAs’ biggest award, one of Swift’s biggest supporters in the case has been Faith Hill. At last week’s premiere of Tim McGraw’s upcoming film The Blind Side, Hill was asked about the Entertainer of the Year drama, to which she responded, “I think [Swift] worked her tail off the last couple [of years] and she deserves to win.” Husband Tim McGraw also defended the young superstar, saying, “I’ve been doing this a long time and she’s got a better head on her shoulders than I do, so I don’t know how anybody could complain about that.”

Faith’s Picks for Week 10

The leading lady of Sunday Night Football is back with some Week 10 picks, and Faith Hill is playing it safe this week as she’s selected mostly favored teams to win this weekend’s NFL matchups (besides, of course, choosing her beloved Tennessee Titans over the Buffalo Bills.) Here’s how Hill predicts this week’s football games will go:

Chicago Bears over San Francisco 49ers (already 0-1, as the 49ers brought down the Bears last night.)
Atlanta Falcons over Carolina Panthers
Miami Dolphins over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Minnesota Vikings over Detroit Lions
Pittsburgh Steelers over Cincinnati Bengals
Tennessee Titans over Buffalo Bills
Denver Broncos over Washington Redskins
New Orleans Saints over St. Louis Rams
New York Jets over Jacksonville Jaguars
Kansas City Chiefs over Oakland Raiders
Arizona Cardinals over Seattle Seahawks
Philadelphia Eagles over San Diego Chargers
Dallas Cowboys over Green Bay Packers
New England Patriots over Indianapolis Colts
Baltimore Ravens over Cleveland Browns

In other football-related news, fans can enter a contest to win a Faith Hill-autographed football by texting the 13th word of Faith Hill’s bio from her website to the number 66937. One winner will be selected at random on Nov. 23.

Hill Hands off to Taylor Swift

Last night’s Country Music Association (CMA) Awards proved that the country music industry is going out with the old and in with the new, and nothing exemplified that more than the radiant Taylor Swift, who was the big winner of the night. Swift scooped up three awards during the evening including Album of the Year (Fearless), Video of the year (“Love Story”), Female Vocalist of the Year and (most importantly) the whopper of the night – Entertainer of the Year. While Swift’s accomplishments speak for themselves, perhaps the most telling sign of the night that the country music industry is going full-force contemporary was with the presenters of the night’s biggest award (Entertainer of the Year): Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Hill has often been compared as an older version of Taylor Swift ever since the 19-year-old blonde stepped onto the scene with guitar in hand and beautiful vocals to boot, and with Hill presenting the young Swift with the Entertainer of the Year award last night, it was almost as if she was handing off the baton to Swift as the next reigning queen of the industry. Hill, of course, hasn’t won an award at the CMAs since she took the title of Female Vocalist of the Year in 2000, and Swift’s Entertainer of the Year win last night marks the first time a female has won the award since 2000, when the Dixie Chicks did so in style.

Savior Faith

Faith Hill is many things – mother, wife, singer and Sunday Night Football performer, to name a few – and now she can add another role to her title: savior. Hill has been credited as rescuing Tim McGraw from walking the dark side, and he’s singing her praises in this week’s edition of People magazine.

While this topic has been given tons of media attention for the last couple weeks, it’s a subject that’s still touching no matter how many times it’s put in the spotlight. Take Tim McGraw’s own words in the People article. Speaking of St. Faith, McGraw said, “Faith has kept me alive. She’s saved my life in a lot of different ways – from myself more than anything. She’s loved me through times when I didn’t love me.”

As if this weren’t enough, McGraw went on to explain how the lovely Faith Hill has saved his life. Without her, the country crooner said, “I’d be dead. Oh yeah, I would have partied too hard. I might have caught myself somewhere along the way and put the brakes on. I don’t know if I would have gone [to rehab]; I don’t think I could have been talked into that during those times.” Instead of becoming a raging alcoholic, however, Tim McGraw now has three gorgeous daughters (Gracie, 12; Maggie, 11; and Audrey, 7) and is still one of the top contemporary country music artists of the decade. And, of course, he still has a little Faith.

Hill Talks Military Medicine - and Looks Good Doing So!

The lovely Faith Hill was the keynote speaker at last Friday’s Partnership for Military Medicine Symposium as part of the “Country United: Advancing Medicine from the Frontlines to the Homefront” event in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, and she just might have even given our First Lady some competition when it came to Hill’s sleek and sophisticated business style at the convention. Clad in a black pencil skirt and black-and-silver-checkered blazer with hair curled neatly in place and a smile painted on her face, Faith Hill took the role of the all-American girl in speaking up for medical advances for military-related endeavors.

The symposium that Faith Hill was part of over the weekend was aimed at encouraging and furthering advancement of research and clinical care of military medicine, and the Country United event drew huge crowds to our nation’s capital in support of the topic. The event was put on in part by the Tug McGraw Foundation, which Hill’s husband Tim McGraw helped jumpstart in honor of his late father, the great baseball player Tug McGraw. McGraw and Hill were also both on hand for live performances during the weekend’s Washington D.C. extravaganza.

More Kids for the McGraw/Hills?

The American public has a wild fascination for the personal life Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s family, and so it is that McGraw is the cover piece for People magazine this week, where he dishes on his personal life and on living with Faith. While Hill recently made a cameo on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, talking about the couple’s new home and McGraw’s dirty laundry, McGraw spoke on yet another aspect of the couple’s life together via People: the topic of children.

McGraw spoke of having more children in his recent interview with People, saying, “We talked about it once. We even have names for boys. I would love to have a boy also, but if we start again now, we’re going to be old when they’re gone. We started out wanting five [kids], and life just… got busy.” Indeed, the McGraw/Hill family has been incredibly busy lately, especially with McGraw’s recent endeavors with the film The Blind Side, his new album Southern Voice and upcoming tour. Hill has also been arms-deep in her own ventures, including a newly-released perfume and stint on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Will Faith Hill soon be bearing more children? It’s a thought that’s certainly crossed her husband’s mind, but don’t look for a baby bump anytime soon.
