KISS Tickets – Which KISS Song Rocks the Hardest?

KISS has been rocking for over three decades, now, and they’ve accumulated a vast discography of songs that rock. But which KISS song rocks the hardest?  One of the best ways to tell if a song rocks is by the lyrics. We’ll go through some of KISS’ most popular anthems and try to determine the hardest rocking song of them all.  Of course, some of the most popular KISS songs were about love and girls, such as “I Was made For Loving You,” “Forever” and “Dreaming.” We weeded out the sentimental songs for this lyrical battle.

“Rock and Roll All Nite”

“Rock and Roll All Nite” is certainly the band’s most popular song, and if you’ve ever purchased Kiss tickets at StubHub.com, you probably know that they tend to close out their concerts with this well-known hit. But popularity alone doesn’t make for a hard rocking song. The chorus of the song, which is sung over and over again, is the ever-famous line “I wanna rock and roll all night, and party every day!” You can’t argue with that opinion about rocking, but what do the other lines in the song do to help persuade the listener to rock?  The song opens with the narrator calling out what would seem to be a lovely lady in the crowd. KISS sings, “You show us everything you’ve got/ You keep on dancin’ and the room gets hot/ You drive us wild, we’ll drive you crazy.” The rest of the lyrics, besides the chorus, seems to be aimed at getting some of their audience members to “show” KISS “everything” they’ve got.

“Detroit Rock City”

Perhaps the band’s second most well known song is “Detroit Rock City,” a song that tells a tale about the lengths a young lad will go to rock. The narrative of the story is told from the first person, so that when the audience sings it, they’re telling a story about themselves. In “Detroit Rock City” a young person sits in bed on a Saturday night, but is awoken and persuaded to leave bed and go out to a concert based on the music that comes out of the radio. The whole while he hears the siren chant of KISS: “Get up/ Everybody’s gonna move their feet/ Get down/ Everybody’s gonna leave their seat/ You gotta lose your mind in Detroit Rock City!” What’s most rocking about this song is that the young rocker becomes a kind of music zombie, compelled to act without thought of consequences, even death. Some of the last lyrics state: “There’s a truck ahead, lights starin’ at my eyes/ Oh my God, no time to turn/ I got to laugh ‘cause I know I’m gonna die/ Why?”

“Beth”

Most KISS fans think of Beth as a love song, but in reality, if you listen attentively to the lyrics, you can tell that it’s actually the opposite of a love song. Rather than hang out with Beth, who feels so “empty” because the narrator is out rocking with his band mates, the narrator choses to stay out, instead of come home to Beth.  The last lines of the song read: “Beth I know you’re lonely/ And I hope you’ll be alright/ ‘Cause me and the boys will be playing all night/ all night.”

So which song rocks the hardest, “All Nite,” “Detroit” or “Beth,” KISS fans? The answer is a personal one. Do you like simple, straight-to-the-point rocking? Do you appreciate the crazy lengths that fans will go to in order to get to a rock concert? Or do you believe that the only thing that can conquer love is rock and roll?

Marc Anthony Tickets – Happy Fifth Anniversary, Marc and Jen!

Marc Anthony was already a star by the time he hooked up with Jennifer Lopez, but a superstar marriage did wonders for both of their careers. Early in June, Anthony and Lopez celebrated five years of marriage as they tied the knot on June 5, 2004. Since then, they have done a movie together, 2006’s El Cantante, as well as become the proud parents of fraternal twins, Emme and Max. Their togetherness will continued this fall when Anthony and Lopez embark on a tour together. The tour will hit top cities like Atlantic City, Washington D.C., New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Dallas and Miami.  With the superstar status of this couple, this tour is sure to be one of the hottest tickets in town. Because of this, fans will want to book their Marc Anthony tickets from StubHub.com as soon as possible.
Anthony has had a successful career, and it is no wonder that he had a childhood filled with music. He was given the name Marco Antonio Muñiz at birth and grew up in New York. His father helped to introduce him to Latin stars of the era like Ruben Blades, Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe. He expanded his taste beyond Latin music by soaking up the sounds of R&B crooners like Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. By the age of 12, Anthony was already a budding young singer/songwriter who was hired to sing background. Before he made it on his own, he wrote the single “Boy I’ve Been Told,” which became a top hit for Safire.
When he did drop his debut album, it was quite a production. He enlisted the help of producer Little Louis Vega, who helped him turn 1991’s When the Night is Over into an interesting mix of Latin and hip-hop. The album also featured guest appearance by more established artists like Tito Puente and Eddie Pamieri. He found his first dance hit with the single “Ride the Rhythm” from that album. Instead of continuing in the same vein for his sophomore release, Anthony decided instead to turn toward salsa music and started working with Sergio George. Otra Nota was released in 1993 and balanced catchy melodies with his inviting and emotive voice. The album was his first to make the Latin charts, but it would hardly be his last.
He stayed with George to release his third album, Todo a Su Tiempo, in 1995. Two year later, he had his first Latin number one with Contra La Corriente. The Latin scene was exploding onto the mainstream in the late 1990s with the emergence of Latin pop stars like Ricky Martin, and Marc Anthony appealed to English-language fans with his self-titled 1999 album. The album was a Top 10 crossover hit for Anthony, expanding his reach into the rest of the world. Since then, he has gone back to Spanish albums with a foray or two into the English pop world. Many of his albums were Latin number ones as well as crossover successes, cementing his reputation as a salsa legend.

Kenny Chesney Tickets – Chesney Closing CMA Fest, Set for BamaJam

Kenny Chesney is one of the undeniable superstars in country music, and any time he performs it is a reason for fans to show up in droves. His star power is the reason he has been chosen as the closing act for the CMA Music Festival, which will run from June 11 to June 14. After this year’s BamaJam wrapped up, Chesney was also announced as one of next year’s headliners at the popular festival. This year’s festival featured a slew of top artists like Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, Gary Allan, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Aaron Tippin, Jason Aldean and more.  On top of the major appearances at festivals, Chesney is also on his own successful tour, hitting spots like Chicago, Virginia Beach, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Cheyenne, Seattle and Tampa this summer. Fans who want to see him at a nearby show can get Kenny Chesney tickets from StubHub.com.
Other stars may have rose to fame quickly, but Kenny Chesney took a few more years to make a name for himself in the country scene. After growing up in a small Tennessee town, he attended East Tennessee State University. While there, he was given his first guitar and started working on his music. He joined a band soon after and eventually made his own demo. He sold 1,000 copies of that demo, pushing him to move to Nashville after graduation. Playing in a local honky tonk gave him the experience he needed, and he signed a deal with Capricorn records in the early 1990s. In My Wildest Dreams, his debut album, dropped in 1993, but a lack of promotion meant the album didn’t reach its full potential. The album did sell 100,000 copies, helping Chesney to be recruited by BNA when Capricorn folded.
The label move was just what Chesney needed to push his career further, releasing All I Need to Know in 1995. He stuck mostly to country ballads for the release, and the album became his first to chart. Its follow up, 1997’s Me and You, was Chesney’s official breakthrough in the industry, making the Top 10 in country and becoming a crossover hit. He continued his climb toward the top with the albums I Will Stand and Everywhere We Go in the late 1990s. His greatest hits album in 2000 became his first country number one. His 2002 album, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems, became a second number one hit for Chesney, captivating fans with singles like “The Good Stuff,” “Young,” “Big Star” and the title track.
After a 2003 holiday album, he released another number one on both country and mainstream charts, 2004’s When the Dun Goes Down. 2005 was a big year for Chesney. He released another top-charting album, Be As You Are (Songs From an Old Blue Chair), and also had a highly-publicized marriage to actress Rene Zellweger, which only lasted a matter of months. Chesney bounced back quickly, releasing The Road and the Radio. Since then, he has stayed on top with albums like Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates and his most recent effort, Lucky Old Sun.

Judas Priest Tickets – Outstanding Live Album!

Judas Priest has decided on 10 songs that have not been previously released to be included on a live album titled A Touch of Evil: Live.  The record is due out on July 14, which falls directly in the middle of the band’s U.S. summer tour.  A Touch of Evil will include the live versions of some old Priest favorites like “Painkiller,” “Dissident Aggressor,” “Riding on the Wind,” “Between the Hammer and the Anvil” and “Eat Me Alive.”  The metal band is currently preparing for its much-talked-about summer tour, during which they will play their 1980 album British Steel in its complete entirety – from front to back.  The tour is scheduled to officially kick off on June 29 in Indianapolis and will wrap up on August 23 in Gilford, New Hampshire.  Whitesnake is the scheduled opening act for the tour.  For more information about this tour and other upcoming appearances from Judas Priest, be sure to visit http://www.stubhub.com, where you can also find your own pair of Judas Priest tickets.
As one of the more influential heavy metal bands of the 1970s, Judas Priest helped lead the way in the British Heavy Metal genre.  Instrumental in fusing together gothic doomsday tunes with more mainstream pop-metal melodies, Judas Priest inspired an entire hodgepodge of eclectic death metal bands that rose to prominence during the years between 1975 and 1985.
It was perhaps the release of Stained Class, which appeared in 1978, that helped paved the way in the metal industry for the band.  Although they had issued several other albums beforehand, none had gained much traction in the mainstream industry.  Stained Class changed all of that for Judas Priest, as it soon garnered the title “indisputable metal masterpiece” from critics.  There was no denying the fact that Judas Priest had struck gold with this effort.  The album sported the now iconic tracks of “Exciter,” “Better by You, Better Than Me” and “Beyond the Realms of Death.”  The sheer power of the jackhammer guitar riffs was hard to ignore and fans eagerly welcomed Judas Priest in the “metal club.”
The following year, the band emerged once again with another noteworthy record, called Hell Bent for Leather (Killing Machine in the U.K.).  This record included the hit songs: “Delivering the Goods,” “Hell Bent for Leather” and “Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown).”  It was a blistering dark and morbid album that further progressed Judas Priest’s standing the growing heavy metal industry.
These days, Judas Priest are hardly the young dudes on the metal scene, but they still remain prominent.  Considered pioneers of an industry that grew louder by the year, Judas Priest has neither quieted nor calmed down.  Their upcoming tour will likely be filled with those same fiery guitar riffs and smashing tunes that will require most to protect vulnerable eardrums.  But that is the allure of Judas Priest: ever present and always loud…they will never go quietly into the night.  Be blown away by their upcoming tour and new live album.

Keith Urban with Taylor Swift Tickets – Different Strokes for Headlining Acts

Australian country-rocker Keith Urban made a logical decision when he chose Taylor Swift as a touring companion for his current Escape Together World Tour, as both contemporary country music musicians have a knack for the guitar and incredible crossover appeal. As much as Urban and Swift may have a similar appeal when it comes to the Nashville music scene, however, as far as their music and interaction with crowds go these two megastars couldn’t be more different, adding a unique flair to the tour, if nothing else.
The differentiation between the country tunes of Keith Urban and those of Taylor Swift may have something to do with the artists’ significant gap in age, but perhaps it’s Urban’s tough-guy persona and Swift’s vulnerable and almost porcelain image that set these two Nashville stars apart. This has been displayed ever since Swift and Urban have started touring together (he’s the headliner on the bill for the tour, but she’s drawing in crowds perhaps even larger than his) especially last weekend when the Escape Together Tour came rolling into Cincinnati, Ohio at the US Bank Center. 19-year-old Taylor Swift, the opening act of the evening and the starlet known for penning tales of her own heartbreak into her songs, immediately took to the crowd during her hour-long set in Cincinnati, pounding out a riveting and energetic performance that was full of her admiration for the audience, getting the crowd involved with each and every note she sang and strummed. Urban, on the other hand, came onstage as the cool guy he is portrayed in the country music realm, and the 41-year-old heartthrob engaged the audience by playing in the crowd for select songs, a trait that has become one of his staple moves in concert. Urban’s two-hour set onstage at the US Bank Center included moving around all over the arena, showcasing a different sort of crowd engagement as Swift’s but an equally successful one.
Urban recently commented on the objective of each and every concert, saying, “Our goal every night is to play with the crowd, not at them. We designed the stage to make that possible. The truth is that I don’t even know when I’ll leave the stage to go into the stands, but that’s what makes it so much fun. You never know what is going to happen.” Country music fans in Cincinnati were more than pleased by the interactions between Keith and Swift and the audience, as concertgoers with Keith Urban and Taylor Swift tickets got to see how well the two dazzling artists complement each other musically.
Though he’s got several years on Taylor Swift, Keith Urban has attracted largely the same crowd as the Nashville princess through his contemporary hits and dashing good looks. Urban has been perfecting his brash style of country-rock bliss since the ‘90s, moving from his native Australia to the U.S. and cracking the Music City bubble for the first time with 1999’s eponymous release, capitalizing on his infectious tunes and breezy hits to spawn a successful solo career. The blonde guitarist/singer has been a key figure to the contemporary country music scene ever since, claiming several number one hit singles and albums and even two Grammy Awards on his way through the ‘00s, even upping his star status even more with a marriage to actress Nicole Kidman in 2006. Now that he’s on tour for the summer of 2009, fans are flocking to get tickets to a performance with Taylor Swift. Concert tickets to an upcoming gig are available from StubHub, but with these two red-hot artists on the bill, tickets are sure to be in high demand!
