Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Dave Matthews Band Does TV

Music channel Fuse celebrated the release of Dave Matthews Band’s most recent album Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King, which was hailed the band’s “most electric album yet” by David Fricke in Rolling Stone, with a week’s worth of DMB events starting with a live broadcast of the band’s gig at New York’s Beacon Theatre on June 1. Fuse documented the making of DMB’s latest LP with a four-part series titled The Road to Big Whiskey airing each night at 8pm. Among the footage is a clip of Matthews revealing the meaning behind the band’s album: “the GrooGrux King” was the nickname of the late DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who sadly passed away from complications following an ATV accident in August 2008. In the footage, obtained by Rolling Stone’s Rock Daily, Matthews says, “When he used to say something was the shit or something was awesome, he’d say it was ‘the Groogrux.’” The “Big Whiskey” part of DMB’s LP title was inspired by a homeless man loitering outside one of the band’s photo shoots asking for money to buy a “big whiskey.” Well, there you have it!
Frontman Dave Matthews, violinist Boyd Tinsley, guitarist Tim Reynolds, drummer Carter Beauford, bassist Stefan Lessard and brass players Jeff Coffin and Rashawan Ross, new additions to the lineup after founding DMB member Moore passed way last summer,  kicked off their tour in support of Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King with a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on April 14, with Matthews asking the audience, “Who starts a tour at Madison Square Garden?” before the band opened the set with “Don’t Drink the Water.” “Raven” followed and then DMB covered the latest single off Big Whiskey, “Funny The Way It Is.” Gregg Allman just “happened to be in town” and joined the band on stage during “Melissa.” The band’s tour opener featured new tracks like “Why I Am,” with the the lyrics, “Here I am, still dancing with the GrooGrux King,” sprinkled in with old favorites like “Two Step,” “#41” and “Recently.”
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Matthews gushed about the band’s latest album saying, “This is a good record. Even people who don’t like Dave Matthews Band are going to like this record—and if they don’t, then they just don’t like music.” If Rolling Stone’s review is any indication, Matthews was right, as the album was described as “DMB’s heaviest album yet, both musically and emotionally,” also comparing the effort to “a New Orleans funeral parade—mourning and zest balled into big, brawny music.”  Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King is DMB’s seventh studio album and features the tracks “Grux,” “Shake Me Like A Monkey,” “Funny the Way It Is,””Lying In the Hands of God,” “Why I Am,” “Dive In,” “Spaceman,” “Squirm,” “Alligator Pie,” “Seven,” “Time Bomb,” “Baby Blue” and “You & Me.” Don’t miss your chance to hear some of those tracks in addition to old DMB favorites, check out StubHub.com for Dave Matthews Band tickets today!

Brad Paisley Tickets - The Ultimate Prankster on Tour

Brad Paisley had more kicks than imaginable with Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Crystal Shawanda on his Paisley Party Tour over the last several months, and now there’s a new artist for the notorious prankster to punk this summer and fall on Paisley’s American Saturday Night Tour, which opens this Friday in Charlotte. Paisley, who is known for pulling outrageous pranks on his opening acts on tour, might just have his work cut out for him this time, as opening act Jimmy Wayne is already preparing for Prank Wars ’09. Paisley has pulled stunts on Kellie Pickler, Chuck Wicks, Jewel and more over the last couple years, but Jimmy Wayne isn’t letting Paisley’s long list of punkees intimidate him. “People have been warning me so it’s gonna have to be a mighty big prank,” Wayne recently said of his upcoming stint on Paisley’s American Saturday Night Tour, “I’ve got my guard up and I’m looking out.”
While Paisley is known for pulling fast ones on several of his touring comrades, one of the greatest pranks on tour came when Jewel and Chuck Wicks decided to prank Mr. Trickster himself. Last fall, Paisley stepped off his private jet in Nashville and was “arrested” by two retired policemen Jewel had hired, telling the “Start a Band” vocalist that he was under arrest for involvement in “serious crimes.” After loading a panic-stricken Paisley into a cop car, the officers explained he was under arrest for “excessive noodling,” after which Paisley admitted it was the best prank he’s ever had. Several months prior to this incident, opening acts Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift also decided to punk Paisley, as well, dressing up in brown body suits as ticks (calling themselves “Taylor Tick” and “Kellie Tickler”) while other opening act Jack Ingram dressed up as an exterminator, the three artists running onstage unannounced during Brad Paisley’s performance of his No. 1 hit song “Ticks” and dancing to the music. After the incident, Paisley was a good sport about the prank, saying, “I was, first of all, just hoping that no one thought that was part of the show.” Country music fans with Brad Paisley tickets to an upcoming stop on the American Saturday Night Tour can expect much of the same prankster antics, this time with both Jimmy Wayne and Dierks Bentley.
Long before he made a name for himself as the ultimate prankster, Brad Paisley spent his youth growing up in West Virginia, given his first guitar at age eight and unknowingly paving a path for his future. Paisley, now known for his incredible songwriting talents and guitar-strumming skills, started penning his own material at age 12, jumping into the spotlight for the first time when he was invited to make a cameo on the Wheeling station WWVA’s Saturday night broadcast Jamboree USA. The show was a smashing success, and Paisley spent the next several years as an opening act for big-name artists, next attending Nashville’s famed Belmont University before diving head-first into recording demos for record companies.
Paisley crashed onto the Nashville music scene in 1999 when he released his debut solo album Who Needs Pictures via Arista. The album produced his first two No. 1 singles, “He Didn’t Have to Be” and “We Danced,” and subsequent singles such as “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” and “Wrapped Around” gave Paisley a reputation around Music City for being one of the most clever songwriters in the business. Every album Paisley has released since 2004 has hit number one on the Billboard charts, and this country music icon has most recently seen chart-topping success with singles “Online,” “Ticks,” “I’m Still a Guy,” “Start a Band” and “Waitin’ on a Woman.” Tickets to Paisley’s current American Saturday Night Tour, which starts Friday in Charlotte, N.C. and ends in mid-October in West Palm Beach, FL, are available now from StubHub, and there’s never a dull moment with this renowned singer/songwriter.

Brad Paisley Tickets – New Tour Set to Be Fun Ride

Brad Paisley’s concerts are nothing if not a fun-filled night of great music. Turns out, Paisley isn’t just a fun guy on stage. He is set to perform with Jimmy Wayne as an opener, and Wayne is already gearing himself up for what touring with Paisley is rumored to bring. Paisley is known for his pranks on tour, causing Wayne to comment in a recent interview that he knows he has to be on guard during the tour or else be the butt of Paisley’s jokes. Wayne’s other plan is to pull some pranks himself. Despite his superstar status and amazing songwriting, Brad Paisley has learned not to take himself (or anyone else) too seriously. Fans can get in on the fun by reserving Brad Paisley tickets from StubHub.com
Paisley has loved humor and music since he was a child growing up in Glen Dale, West Virginia, where he was born in 1972. When he was eight years old, his grandfather gave him his first guitar and ignited a passion in young Paisley. At 10 years old, he started playing at church. He continued to study guitar and started C-Notes, his first band, when he was 12. Even before his teens, Paisley was on his way to the top. A fortuitous gig playing at a Rotary Club led to him being invited to play on Jamboree USA, which turned into a full-time position. He spent his time there honing his skill, but Nashville was calling.
Paisley travelled to Nashville after high school, but chose to attend Belmont University there instead of just pursuing his music career. The young musician’s songwriting caught attention before his singing did, leading to a songwriting position with EMI. He finally got his big break in 199 when Arista released his debut album, Who Needs Pictures. The album caught country fans by surprise with its developed songwriting, yielding hits like the title track and two country number ones: “He Didn’t Have to Be” and “We Danced.”
Paisley’s popularity has only grown since then, building more and more of a crossover following with albums like Part II, Mud on the Tires, Time Well Wasted, 5th Gear and Play. He has been able to find the perfect mix of serious emotional tunes and humor-filled hits with top-charting singles like “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song),” “Celebrity,” “Whiskey Lullaby,” “Little Moments,” “The World,” “Online,” “Waitin’ On a Woman” and “I’m Still a Guy.” His new album, American Saturday Night, will be released on June 30, 2009.
Along with his music career, Paisley also has a family life that he often writes about. Brad Paisley is married to actress Kimberly Williams, who rose to fame in the Father of the Bride films. She has appeared in some of Paisley’s videos. The two had their first child, son William Huckleberry, in 1997 and another son, Jasper Warren, recently in April of 2009. Paisley has another reason to celebrate as he was one of the most prolific nominees for the 2009 CMT Music Awards.

Beyonce Tickets – Imitation Highest Form of Flattery?

Beyonce—and her Sasha Fierce alter ego—is often considered to be an inimitable force in the music industry, but that doesn’t stop some from trying. The latest to attempt to replicate the moves and style is Joe Jonas of Jonas Brothers fame. In the black and white YouTube video, Joe Jonas takes on Beyonce’s hit single “Sing Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” He doesn’t just try to replicate Beyonce’s song, he also makes an attempt at her style and dance moves. In a black unitard and black stilettos, he tries on some of Beyonce’s dance moves for size, and they seem to be a poor fit for the pop star. The video was done to promote the Jonas Brothers’ new album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, but it may just turn more fans toward Beyonce and her mastery of the music scene. Fans can catch all of her tunes in concert with Beyonce tickets from StubHub.com
Despite the fact that Beyonce is only in her twenties, she has been a star on the scene for more than a decade. She was born in Houston and started performing at an early age, entering dance and vocal competitions. Beyonce found similarly-interested friends in Kelly Rowland, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett and the foursome formed a girl group with Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, as their manager. The group was eventually named Destiny’s Child started building steam. They had a few lineup changes early on and eventually signed a deal in 1997 with Columbia Records. They dropped their self-titled album soon after, finding instant success with the single “No, No, No.” The next year, they released their second album, The Writing’s on the Wall. Survivor followed in 2001, grabbing attention with singles like the title track and “Bootylicious.”
By 2003, Beyonce was ready to break out on her own, but at the time she didn’t want to make a break completely from Destiny’s Child. She released her first solo album, Dangerously In Love, in 2003. The album was just as successful as Destiny Child’s work and after one more album with her group, Destiny Fulfilled, Beyonce officially decided to just focus on her solo career. She returned with another number one album, B’Day, in 2006. Her latest release is I Am… Sasha Fierce, her third number one solo album. The two disc release was supposed to display her confident stage persona, Sasha Fierce, as well as her more down-to-earth true personality.
Beyonce’s forceful drive in the industry was confirmed yet again recently when she was named number four on Forbes 2009 Celebrity 100, a list of the 100 most powerful celebrities. The rank comes after a very successful run for Beyonce in the past several months. Along with releasing I Am…Sasha Fierce, Beyonce also starred in films like Cadillac Records and Obsessed. She made more than $80 million last year. Like her famous husband, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, Beyonce also uses her sense of fashion to create her own cline of eyeglasses, jewelry and more.

Aerosmith with ZZ Top Tickets – Aerosmith to Deliver ‘Toys in the Attic’ In Its Entirety on To

Aerosmith previously hinted that they would be playing one of their albums live in its entirety while on the road with ZZ Top this summer, and that album is - drum roll please: Toys in the Attic. Steven Tyler and Joey Kramer spoke with Boston radio station WZLX and revealed that they have chosen the 1975 album, which includes Aerosmith favorites like “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way” and was picked as one of the “Greatest Albums of All Time” by Rolling Stone, for their tour. In the “Greatest Albums” feature, Rolling Stone hailed Toys in the Attic the moment when the band “perfected their raunchy blues-rock sound” and called attention to Joe Perry’s standout guitar riffs on “Walk This Way” and “Sweet Emotion.” The band’s third album, Toys in the Attic has sold over eight million copies since its mid-’70s release, and Aerosmith fans will undoubtedly be flocking to see the band perform the whole album live, so check out StubHub.com for Aerosmith tickets to see the band with ZZ Top this summer.
According to Road Runner Records’ Blabbermouth, when asked which Aerosmith album he would pick to play in its entirety on tour by VH1 Classic Radio, guitarist Joe Perry said, “I think Toys in the Attic would be fun. We do a lot of songs off the first four records anyway. We’ve jammed on “Uncle Salty” onstage a few times. The later records with more songs on them, they would take up too much time in the set. We need to leave some room for some of the other standards.” Aerosmith won’t be the only band playing an album from front to back this summer, as Judas Priest will be playing all of 1980’s British Steel and Mötley Crüe will be covering all of 1989’s Dr. Feelgood on their respective summer tours.
Perry also revealed that Aerosmith is considering releasing their new album, produced by Brendan O-Brien (who also helmed Pearl Jam’s upcoming effort), as a Walmart exclusive in an interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Music Mix. If the rumor is true, Aerosmith would be following in the footsteps of bands like AC/DC (Black Ice) and the Eagles (Long Road Out of Eden), who both issued Walmart exclusive albums. “This is about the third time I’ve had to make excuses why the record isn’t out. You line everything up just right: Brendan O’Brien producing, Walmart and Sony screaming for the record, tour coming up, and there’s no record. We’re still in shock that it’s not happening.” The band has been slowed by Perry’s knee surgery and Tyler’s bout with pneumonia, and fans will just have to get their Aerosmith fix by seeing the band on tour while waiting for the album to arrive. Aerosmith and ZZ Top kick off their joint tour in St. Louis, MO on June 10 and will make their way around the country through September. Perry recently told Rolling Stone that the pairing of the two bands is going to make for “a kickass show” so get your Aerosmith tickets today!
