Gavin DeGraw Tickets – Free of All Inhibitions, DeGraw Returns to Tour

He’s been in love with a girl and knocked out stereotypes, now Gavin DeGraw is ridding himself of anyone label that he’s just another pop act as he rocks out on his longtime instrument and steadily records and promotes his third studio effort, Free. The New York native behind the theme song for the teen soap opera One Tree Hill, is self-assured about his latest effort, which displays a talent yet unseen. “We kept the production very minimal in order to get everything that lies between me and the audiences out of the way,” he said to in a press release. “By removing all the bells and whistles, you really make room for someone to pay attention to the songwriting.” It’s hard to remove your eyes from the star, who brings his soft rock appeal to the top of the charts with every effort. Now Gavin DeGraw tickets are making headlines as he sets out in support of Free, the latest effort with DeGraw’s name.

Working in Brooklyn for two weeks with producer Camus Celli, DeGraw took a few songs from his past and covered others to make an early follow up to his self-titled 2008 album, a number one seller. It’s the most organically raw album that the platinum selling artists has created, a collection that showcases his talent beyond studio production. “This album reveals the honesty about my love of music,” he said to PR Newswire. “It isn’t about the biggest, the strongest, or the loudest. It’s about simplicity in its purest form. It doesn’t sound like the big machine. It sounds like where you go to escape the big machine.” Several of the tracks are beats that only his “die-hard fans would know,” he admits to PR Newswire, including “Dancing Shoes” and “Glass.” “I wanted to properly record them because they’re special to my fans,” he continued. The fourteen day recording session was equally as important in such an organic process, as it demanded less fine-tuning than his previous work, geared along by his band members, guitarist Audley Freed, bassist Andy Hess, drummer Charley Drayton and keyboardist George Laks.

The man is hitting up Portland’s Aladdin Theater first before making his way up and down the coasts, both east and west, finishing up in Florida in early May. DeGraw isn’t unfamiliar to life on tour, as he’s been promoting his music for years. Playing the piano for nearly 20 years, he picked it up as a youngster as his musically inclined family sang around the instrument constantly. Though he’s seen a few empty concert halls in his day, the musician still embraces performing live. “I was still going to [perform] regardless [of] getting rejected by record companies or not,” DeGraw said to LiveDaily in July 2008 while on tour supporting his second studio effort. “I still wanted to go play those shows and have a good time. That really was where the enjoyment was for me – just playing in front of people.” Working on a grassroots concept from the beginning, DeGraw learned from an early stage that he just wanted to make music. “I wanted to make sure that I could make a living being out touring and playing live. Ultimately, I feel that my career would be able to sustain itself or fail depending upon the success of touring, and I wanted to make sure that I put the time in that I need to tour to develop a strong enough following to support that lifestyle,” he continued with LiveDaily.com. Succeeded he has, as StubHub continues to see Gavin DeGraw on tour with more albums and singles on the way.

Death Cab for Cutie Tickets – Death Cab for Charity?

Death Cab for Cutie is currently on tour, delivering their brand of indie rock to enamored fans across the country, with Cold War Kids supporting the band during the April leg of their journey. Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard and Cold War Kids’ Nathan Willett are concentrating on more than making fans swoon while on the road, however, as the pair are running to raise funds for the non-profit organization Water Wells for Africa. The musically inclined duo is tracking its mileage in real time on RunForWaterWells.com, and fans can track their progress and donate $1 for each mile they complete.

Willet’s family formed Water Wells for Africa 12 years ago, and the non-profit has constructed over 100 wells in the drought-plagued South African country of Malawi through donations alone; each well costs about $6,000 to survey and install. Wells created by WWFA provide fresh drinking water to 150,000 – 200,000 Malawians per day that wouldn’t otherwise have access to clean drinking water. Willet joked to pollstar.com, “I have spent too many mornings jogging along, returning sweaty while others still sleep, stashing my tennis shoes to keep my secret safe from the monolith that has forbade music and exercise to talk coolly arm in arm. Now I have a partner and a mission in WWFA. Join us!” Gibbard chimed in, “While I’m glad Nathan and I will hopefully raise a good amount of money for a wonderful cause, what I’m really excited about is finally having a running partner on tour.”

Indie darlings that they are, Death Cab for Cutie kicked off their tour April 7 in Upper Darby, PA with Ra Ra Riot and Cold War Kids opening the show at Tower Theatre. Gibbard, who is recently engaged to fellow indie favorite Zooey Deschanel, delivered a solo rendition of “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” before the rest of the band appeared on stage for “The New Year,” off 2003’s Transatlanticism. “Crooked Teeth” and “Company Calls” were next as Death Cab served up a set list that spanned the band’s entire career, with at least one song plucked from each of its six studio albums. Death Cab for Cutie came back onto the stage after a long encore break and performed a new ballad, “A Diamond and a Tether” as well as “Title and Registration” before Gibbard sat down at a piano for “Transatlanticism.”

While Ra Ra Riot will open for Death Cab during their entire tour, Cold War Kids will support the band in April followed by Matt Costa in May. Death Cab will play shows in Washington, D.C., Louisville, Ky., Memphis, Omaha, Neb., Chicago, Sacramento, Austin, Texas, New Orleans, Nashville, Atlanta and more, so check out StubHub for Death Cab for Cutie tickets. Death Cab was supposed to headline the recently canceled Langerado festival on their tour, which includes stops at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater with Andrew Bird and the Hollywood Bowl with Tegan and Sara and the New Pornographers in July. Dave Matthews Band Tickets - Dave Matthews Band Launches Tour, Reveals Track List

“Who starts a tour at Madison Square Garden?” bellowed Dave Matthews to the crowd at his band’s sold-out New York tour opener at the famed venue Tuesday night (April 14), as if the rock veteran had never played Madison Square Garden before. Matthews would pose the somewhat rhetorical question three times during the show, which began with “Don’t Drink the Water,” “Raven” and the new single “Funny The Way It Is” off Dave Matthews Band’s upcoming new album Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King. After performing “Pig,” Matthews and his band—comprised of violinist Boyd Tinsley, guitarist Tim Reynolds, drummer Carter Beauford, bassist Stefan Lessard and brass players Jeff Coffin and Rashawan Ross, new additions to the lineup after founding DMB member LeRoi Moore passed way last summer—were joined on stage by special guest Gregg Allman. According to Matthews, Allman just “happened to be in town tonight” and performed “Melissa” with the band.

In addition to old favorites like “Recently,” “#41” and “Two Step,” Dave Matthews Band served up new track “Why I Am,” with Matthews belting “Here I am, still dancing with the Groogrux King,” referring to the late LeRoi’s nickname, prompting fans to chant “LeRoi! LeRoi!” in response (for which Matthews’ appeared deeply touched). The full set list for DMB’s tour opener: “Don’t Drink the Water,” “Cornbread,” “Funny the Way It Is,” “Raven,” “You Might Die Trying,” “Spaceman,” “Dancing Nancies,” “Pig,” “Melissa,” “Recently,” “So Damn Lucky,” “#27.” “Why I Am,” “Ants Marching,” “#41,” “Two Step” with the encore featuring “Sister” and “Tripping Billies.” Check out StubHub for Dave Matthews Band tickets.

Dave Matthews Band’s latest effort, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King arrives June 2 but the band revealed the album’s set list and intricate, hand-drawn album artwork, inspired by Mardi Gras, this week. In addition, the lead single “Funny the Way It Is” is available as a free download on the band’s official Web side. Produced by Rob Cavallo, Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King features 13 songs: “Grux,” “Shake Me Like a Monkey,” “Funny the Way It Is,” “Lying in the Hands of God,” “Why I Am,” “Dive In,” “Spaceman,” “Squirm” “Alligator Pie (Cockadile),” “Seven,” “Time Bomb,” “My Baby Blue” and “You and Me.” During a recent studio visit, Matthews told Rolling Stone, “This is a good record. Even people who don’t like Dave Matthews Band are going to like this record—and if they don’t, then they just don’t like music.” If you like Dave Matthews Band be sure to get your Dave Matthews Band tickets soon! Rolling Stone hailed the band’s forthcoming album, “DMB’s heaviest album yet, both musically and emotionally,” evidenced by the first single, “Funny the Way It Is” and largely due to the fact that the album is a tribute to the late saxophonist and founding Dave Matthews Band member LeRoi Moore. Moore passed away last summer early on in the recording process of Big Whiskey as a result of injuries sustained in an ATV accident near the band’s Charlottesville, Virginia hometown.

Michael Jackson Tickets – Holding On for Dear Life

He may be the King of Pop, but Michael Jackson sure isn’t ruling anything as of lately as he had trouble halting an auction of his own possessions. Though Jackson’s financial problems have been all over the news since it was revealed his Neverland Ranch in Santa Barbara County was partially sold, the pop star said he would never return to the Los Olivos location where he was accused of molesting children. Though he was acquitted of those charges in 2005, Jackson’s manager Dr. Tohme said “Neverland is gone. Neverland is finished,” to the Wall Street Journal. And though the vacation retreat that once saw guests like Elizabeth Taylor joining Jackson in his 2,800 acre home, his belongings were also to remain his, according to Tohme. “It was a misunderstanding. It was his personal property. It was never supposed to be sold,” he continued during a phone interview.

The auction, which was taking place in conjunction with Julien’s Auction House, was set to begin April 22 through the 25th, never saw true support from the King as a suit was filed last month in Los Angeles attempting to block the Auction House from selling some of Jackson’s personal items, which included the studded glove in wore when filming “Billie Jean” and the gates to the infamous ranch. Julien’s predicted that the estimated auction would give the $24 million indebted star at least $20 million in proceeds: “We were told to take the hoods over the stove and the light fixtures, but we really wanted it to be a museum-quality project,” Darren Julien, president and chief executive of Julien’s Auctions said to the Los Angeles Times. “Michael Jackson is bigger than life. His collecting tastes say that as well. When he wanted something, he bought it.” The excessive personality was proven by the crystal-covered tube socks, an army of fiberglass butlers and elaborate beaded jackets that were worn during his glory days. Though some of the items Jackson felt were too special to depart with, they didn’t include his plethora of awards, from People’s Choice, Billboard to the NAACP and MTV, all of which were displayed at the Auction House. For now, the items are set to head into storage following their current Beverly Hills department store location.

Jackson’s name has long been followed by the media as he remains one of the biggest names in pop music, influencing generations of musicians for his eccentric style, clever dance moves and voice that captured the hearts of girls and boys everywhere during the ‘80s. Though he hasn’t recorded anything new in nearly a decade, he recently reappeared from the midst for a series of shows at London’s O2 Arena. As fans have awaited Jackson’s return for years, Michael Jackson tickets will fall off the StubHub shelves as fast as you can say “thriller!” Jackson made a brief appearance in London announcing his plans to begin a summer residency at O2; though fans had to wait hours to see the less than five minute appearance, fans were ecstatic to see the star return to the stage he grew up on as he declared the performances “the final shows” for London.

Vampire Weekend Tickets – A “Blur” to Mainstream Culture

The newly reunited Blur must find an instant harmony as the group’s backing them up during their promotional reformation set are serious indie rockers – also known as Vampire Weekend. Talking to the New York natives exclusively about their chance to see the iconic rock duo in some of their first performances back on stage, NME.com asked them about their future set: “I think the Hyde Park show will be pretty phenomenal,” frontman Ezra Koenig said, “people have been waiting a long time to see Blur reunite and it’s flattering to be invited to play at all. This will be my first time seeing Blur live and I’m psyched.” Blur recently revealed that Vampire Weekend tickets along with Amadou & Mariam, Florence And the Machine and Deerhoof will also be joining Blur for their July 3rd performance in London, as StubHub reveals a set of tickets for the main event this summer.

It won’t just be about Blur during the few summer performances they are returning to the stage as Vampire Weekend is bound to set the bar high for the indie rock duo. Formed in New York City’s preppy suburbs of indie rock and Afro pop, Vampire Weekend consists of Koenig, Chris Baio, Rostam Batmanglij and Chris Tomson, who all met up while studying at Columbia University. Finding a space in Columbia’s small society parties and indie rock outlets throughout the city until they had a chance to record a few, self – released EPs, the next year the boys found acclaim with appearances at the CMJ Music Marathon among others. 2007 saw the recording contract with XL Records as the quartet released Mansard Roof before the eponymous full length appeared early in 2008. Finding webs support as their “Upper West Side Soweto,” as they deem their tunes, licks were leaked early, the sets that make up the indie rock debut blended funk of your parents’ generation (in an interview with the Loyola Greyhound Koenig admits he “found a lot of inspiration in late ‘70s British music like Elvis Costello and the Clash. Electric guitar-based African music like Orchestra Baobab from Senegal has also influenced us”) with a veteran production sense, groovy instrumental riffs and a catchy content. Though it didn’t even seem like the boys were trying, their set managed to peaked at number 25 on Billboard’s Top Internet Albums, number 17 on The Billboard 200 and second on the Top Independent Albums as it claimed serious critical and commercial acclaim. The set was even proclaimed on Spin’s list of Top 40 Albums of 2008 while Rolling Stone named it the 10th Best of the Year.

Since the debut set appeared the guys have been promoting it everywhere, from the Late Night Show with Conon O’Brien to Jimmy Fallon, free shows across college campuses and more. As the guys gear up for the July concert along with others, including July 31st at All Points West in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey and Spain’s Ibiza Rocks mid August, there is bound to be more as their tracks begin to see indie fame. Though they’ve only just begun to record, the next set “will be different from the first one,” admits Koenig, but having only begun recording in January for desired release in the fall, their next set’s sound is still difficult to define.
