Bon Jovi’s Busy Month
These days it seems Bon Jovi is everywhere...on the radio, on television, onstage. The classic rockers have a full schedule this fall and they don’t seem to be slowing down one bit. They have been especially busy with promoting their latest album release, The Circle, and their hot single, “We Weren’t Born to Follow,” has quickly become a radio favorite.
Bon Jovi has also been named an “Artist in Residency” at NBC, which essentially means that they have time slots scheduled all over the network. They will appear on the Today show the day before Thanksgiving.
In addition to these promotional efforts, time in the studio and time on the road, Jon Bon Jovi also has to juggle family life. He’s married to his wife, Forthea, for 20 years and has four children, ages 5 to 16.

Bon Jovi and Jay-Z at Number 1!
So their styles of music could not be more different….but both rapper mogul Jay-Z and ‘80s rock icon Jon Bon Jovi have reason to celebrate this week as they both claimed the number one spot on the charts. Jay Z took the top spot on the Hot 100 with his number one hit, “Empire, State of Mind,” while Bon Jovi slide into the number one rank with their fourth number one album, The Circle. The band’s previous number ones came with Slippery When Wet in 1986, New Jersey in 1988 and then finally again with Lost Highway in 2007.
The Circle is a definite return to the band’s rock ‘n’ roll roots, whereas their previously released record, Lost Highway took on more a country sound. Fans should get out there and snag their copy of Bon Jovi’s top selling album today!
Even better though…why not go to StubHub and get Bon Jovi concert tickets to see the band rock it live onstage?!
Bon Jovi on Top of the Albums Chart
Bon Jovi have another hit with their most recent effort, The Circle. The famed ‘80s group notched their second consecutive No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart, with about 163,000 copies sold. All in all the New Jersey rockers have racked up 10 top 10 albums over the years and it turns out that every single one of its studio releases since 1986 has reached the top 10. The first single off of The Circle, “We Weren’t Born to Follow,” is set for a second week on the Adult Top 40 chart.
The rockers reached number one last year with Lost Highway and previous to that they hit the number one spot with Slippery When Wet in 1986 and again with New Jersey in 1988. These boys were certainly due some more recognition on the charts!

Now That’s Old School
Check out Jon Bon Jovi’s wild ‘80s style hairdo in this video for the tune, “Edge of a Broken Heart.” The song was written during the making of their album, Slippery When Wet, but was actually not featured on the final version. The ballad did appear on the soundtrack to the film Disorderlies. Unlike some of the group’s other powerhouse ballads like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Bad Medicine,” this little known tune almost slipped through the cracks. Thanks to Disorderlies, which ultimately became somewhat of a cult classic, “Edge of Broken Heart” is now one of the more requested songs at Bon Jovi concerts.
Bon Jovi has been busy lately, having released a new album called The Circle and making appearances on NBC as well as last night on Inside the Actor’s Studio. Don’t miss out when these legendary rockstars take to the stage. Check out StubHub and purchase your own pair of Bon Jovi tickets as soon as possible!
Jon Bon Jovi in High School Marching Band?
Mega rockstar Jon Bon Jovi was apparently in (GASP!) a high school marching band. How geeky is that? Bon Jovi confessed that he “played a little trumpet in high school and [I was] in a marching band…sexiest rock star in the world right there. According to newstin.com, even Bon Jovi’s longtime music partner and fellow band member Richie Sambora was shocked to hear the news. He reportedly said, “I’ve known the guy for 27 years…I didn’t know he was in a marching band.” Bon Jovi is also scheduled to appear on Inside the Actor’s Studio tonight. The New Jersey natives will answer questions about their history together and their future with host James Lipton.

Back to Bon Jovi’s $400 Billion Lawsuit
Samuel Bartley Steele filed an appeal against Bon Jovi, Time Warner and Major League Baseball on Nov. 6, claiming that the group’s famous tune, “I Love This Town” rips off one of his own works called “(Man I Really) Love This Team.” Steele claims that his song was released in 2004 and was performed by his act, The Bart Steele Band. The ballad was meant as an ode to Boston’s Red Sox baseball team. The MLB, however, reportedly didn’t bite. Instead Bon Jovi’s “I Love This Town,” was released during the 2007 play-offs and used by MLB to promote baseball on Time Warner’s TBS channel. Thus far, Steele hasn’t won any claims. Last year, a district judge dismissed the claim after coming to the conclusion that the songs were not similar at all.
Bon Jovi just recently released their most recent album, The Circle, which is a definite return to their rock roots. Catch up with their new tunes and be sure to catch the classic ‘80s rockers live by going to StubHub and getting your own pair of Bon Jovi tickets.
The Circle in the Spotlight
The Circle signals a real return to the roots of rock for Bon Jovi, who veered into country-music territory with their previous release, Lost Highway. It is a musical direction that most of the band’s devoted followers will surely appreciate. Bon Jovi manages to build a bridge on this CD, by combining working class sensibilities and pop savvy tunes. The tracklist for the album is below:
1. “We Weren’t Born to Follow”
2. “When We Were Beautiful”
3. “Work For the Working Man”
4. “Superman Tonight”
5. “Bullet”
6. “Thorn In My Side”
7. “Live Before You Die”
8. “Broken Promiseland”
9. “Love’s the Only Rule”
10. “Fast Cars”
11. “Happy Now”
12. “Learn to Love”

Bon Jovi Said ‘No’ to Greatest Hits Record
The New Jersey rockers may have plenty of great hits under their belts, but Bon Jovi opted to cancel their Greatest Hits record because they were able to come up with enough material for a new studio album. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora collaborated in September 2008 to work on brand new tunes for a Greatest Hits CD as a follow-up to 2007’s Lost Highway. Instead, they found themselves composing several socially conscious songs throughout the global economic crisis. According to the Associated Press, Sambora said, “Well, we’ve got good news and bad news - the bad news is you’re not getting a greatest hits, the good news is you’re going to have a great studio album.” We’ll take that!

Bon Jovi Once Again Represents the Sounds of Rock
Bon Jovi’s last album was based largely on the defining sounds of country music. The fiddles and the banjos made up a bulk of the instrumental sounds featured on Bon Jovi’s Lost Highway, but this year the group has come full “circle” back to their roots of rock. The Circle, the latest album from the New Jersey band, features an array of electric guitars and catchy choruses. The album features a variety of rock ballads that are sure to catch the attention of any lifelong Bon Jovi fan. One of the first singles on the effort that has gained traction on radio stations is the tune, “We Weren’t Born to Follow.” Another great track off of the latest release is “When We Were Beautiful.”
