TV on the Radio frontman now acting

This weekend, the box office was probably dominated by a movie about talking chihuahuas. That’s a tragedy—but it’s made more unfortunate by the fact that Rachel Getting Married, a new movie directed by Jonathan Demme and starring Anne Hathaway, is going to fall by the wayside.

Truthfully, it’s the kind of quiet movie that would get a small reception no matter when it was released. But critical reception has been very enthusiastic—and as Pitchfork notes, at least a sliver of that enthusiasm has been reserved for Tunde Adebimpe, the frontman and vocalist for TV on the Radio. Adebimpe has a role that, while not huge, does involve a number of scenes, and turns in an impressive performance. But what really blows people away is the fact that he sings Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend” during the movie. The cover is also included on the film’s soundtrack.

Hopefully, Adebimpe will also perform the song for TV on the Radio ticket holders. Get concert tickets at Stubhub.com.
