The Dead Weather to Bring Halloween to the U.K.

According to NME.com, Jack White’s latest band The Dead Weather will be offering a free performance at White’s pop-up shop across the pond on Halloween (Saturday, Oct. 31). The former White Stripes frontman made the announcement live on NME Radio earlier today (Oct. 29) to DJ Iain Baker, revealing that The Dead Weather would perform at the east London venue over the weekend in hopes of bringing the spirit of the American holiday to Londoners. White’s pop-up shop is located at Shoreditch Church and is the latest staged by his label, Third Man Records. According to White, the band will kick off the free show at 8:00pm Saturday, although the store will be open tomorrow (Oct. 30) as well.

When asked if the band would don Halloween costumes for the show, The Dead Weather’s Alison Mosshart joked, “It’d be nice if you came covered in blood.” White chimed in saying, “I’ll give a record you can only get from me to the person who’s covered in blood the most” (quickly reiterating that the blood should be fake!). The Dead Weather will play London’s HMV Forum tomorrow night and while the London pop-up shop is Third Man’s first outside the States, White hinted that he may open them in Texas and Mexico.
