Stephen King is a Girl Talk fan

Who knew? Stephen King released his Entertainment Weekly list of the 10 best albums of the year, and you’d be surprised to see who was on it. If you’ve read his books, and know his age, you’d peg King as having typical baby boomerish music interests. But he quite obviously keeps up with new music, and Girl Talk’s Feed the Animals ranks number four on his list of great new records.

To quote the author: “The continuous version is 53 minutes of musical stream of consciousness featuring who knows how many (possibly illegal) musical snippets: In the first 10 minutes I picked out the Spencer Davis Group, Twisted Sister, Sinéad O’Connor, and Avril Lavigne. This is as dense and allusive as James Joyce’s Ulysses, only you can dance to it.”

James Joyce? Maybe it takes a few listens to hear it that comparison. But it’s nice to know he’s such a fan. Maybe he’ll be getting concert tickets to an upcoming show. Girl Talk tickets can be found at StubHub.com.
