Radiohead webcasts last night’s show live, distracting viewers from watching Obama

Most Democratic eyes were glued to the TV set last night as presidential hopeful Barack Obama delivered his nomination speech before a very packed, very loud audience in Denver. But a few probably had their laptops open at the same time, watching Radiohead perform live in Santa Barbara. This was the last show of Radiohead’s American tour supporting In Rainbows, their most recent release. They announced the webcast the day of, catching quite a few fans off-guard.
With Radiohead, you have to predict the unpredictable. They offered the record for free online initially, and now it seems they’re trying the same thing with their live shows. It was the last show in America, so no one feels ripped off thinking they could have seen them at a later tour date, and by most accounts online, it was a good one.

Of course, nothing quite compares to concert tickets to the real thing, which can be found on Stubhub.com.
