Radiohead vs. Prince

No, it’s not the most awesome concert of all time, stop salivating. But it is a juicy little disagreement that’s developed between Radiohead and His Purpleness.

At Coachella this year, Prince apparently delighted fans by playing a cover of Radiohead’s first big hit, “Creep.” According to the Associated Press, Prince stood down on his usual violation of close-up cameras and actually allowed a crew to record the performance—naturally, it ended up on YouTube. But not for long. Prince, who’s known for being very protective of his image, demanded YouTube take the recording down.

Radiohead’s position in all this? Thom Yorke thought it was “hilarious” at first, but is now saying—and rightly so—that Prince shouldn’t be able to ban the videos if it’s their song. There are probably many Prince fans out there who emphatically agree.

If you’re looking to see “Creep” played by Radiohead, well, you might just get lucky. They’re on tour now. Radiohead tickets, along with other concert tickets, can be purchased at Stubhub.com.
