Meghan McCain: McCain’s tie to awesome music

Yesterday we noted that Obama seems to have a monopoly on great musical artists declaring their support for him. Up until now, it seemed like McCain supporters who were also well-known musicians were few and far between. But we’ve found McCain’s tie to great bands: His daughter, Meghan.

Meghan McCain has been keeping a regular blog, McCainBlogette.com, and in addition to writing about the campaign trail, frequently posts playlists (what two decades ago would have been called “mixtapes”), all of which are pretty awesome. She has impeccable taste in indie music: A playlist from April 20 includes classic artists like Tom Wait and Nick Drake along with the Gossip, Art Brut and Hot Chip. More importantly, she notes at the top of the post that she’s missing Prince at Coachella for a Washington, D.C. dinner.

This is an individual who has their priorities straight.

Pitchfork notes that her most recent post regarding the government’s bailout plan features a Stereolab song about the dark side of economics—is it a comment on the plan itself? Has she not read the lyrics? Are they reading too much into this?

We can only answer the question of where to find concert tickets: Stubhub.com.
