Kanye debuts his new video on Ellen’s show

It would be foolish to expect Kanye West to ever settle for a simple music video. His latest was recently debuted on the Ellen DeGeneres talk show, for his song “Love Lockdown.” It’s a great song, but the video improves upon it with some very arresting imagery. It starts with Kanye wandering around a clean, furnished apartment, then goes…someplace more abstract. It involves African tribesman and spaceships. It’s not really clear what’s going on past that point.

But Idolator turned its critical eye to the video and noticed something about that apartment Kanye is in. It appears to be modeled after that of Patrick Bateman in American Psycho. Little details, even down to the telescope he has by his window and the furnishings draped in cloth (to protect them from blood spatters) are reflected in the video. Looks like Kanye’s a movie fan.

In any case, fans of Kanye are probably going to be looking for concert tickets once they see the video for this song. Get Kanye West tickets at Stubhub.com.
