Vampire Weekend photos!
Indie rockers Vampire Weekend recently played a show in New York City’s Roseland Ballroom for charity, benefiting WITNESS, a human rights organization. The group uses video and online media to spread images of human rights abuses, increasing awareness of these abuses and what can be done to change them. It’s a worthy cause—one that was started by WITNESS co-founder and art-rocker Peter Gabriel.
With Gabriel being a major part of the organization, of course he also made an appearance. He’s looking very wizened these days, as a series of photos from the show hosted on Pitchfork reveals. The photo series also has some truly great shots of Vampire Weekend rocking out. It’s a shame there isn’t audio samples from the live show. But maybe that’s asking for a bit much—once you’ve heard the band, it’s hard not to wish you had concert tickets to see them live.
