Punks petitioning for XM/Sirius Radio to dump AC/DC channel
AC/DC may be bad boy rock ’n’ roll fun, but punk rock fans who listen to XM/Sirius Radio don’t consider it a worthy replacement for the punk channel they used to listen to. The channel was formerly known as Fungus, an all-punk station that included a variety of classic punk bands and some punk celebrity DJs. XM/Sirius apparently cut the program because of what they perceived to be a lack of interest, and replaced it with a 24/7 AC/DC channel that’s set to expire in January. Not the best way to please a dedicated group of punks.
Now, an online petition is demanding that XM/Sirius bring back Fungus, and that there is indeed a sizable audience for the program. Punknews.org has the scoop, as well as a busy thread full of commentary, for you to check out.
If Fungus comes back, AC/DC fans will probably miss their 24/7 channel. But that doesn’t mean they have to miss getting AC/DC tickets and seeing them live right now. Concert tickets are available at Stubhub.com.
