Porter Wagoner Has Died
Porter Wagoner, the rhinestone-waring Grand Olde Opry star performer who helped to launch the career of such great artists as Dolly Parton by hiring her as his duet partner, has died. Wagoner passed on this past Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 8:25 p.m. at the age of 80.
Having survived an abdominal aneurysm in 2006, Wagoner was hospitalized again this month and his publicist revealed that he had lung cancer. With such a great career, you can imagine how surely Wagoner will be missed by his numerous friends and family members in addition to this adoring fans.
