Phish to Reunite for 2009 Tour
Phish-heads rejoice! The jam band of all jam bands is set to come together in March 2009 for three nights at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA. The shows (March 6-8) will be Phish’s first since disbanding in 2004, when they delivered their farewell concerts in Coventry, VT. The band’s website also reveals that guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, keyboardist Page McConnell and drummer Jon Fishman will continue to tour throughout the year.
Tickets for this momentous show go on sale to the general public Oct. 18, although a small supply will be available on the band’s website before then. Phish is one of the top live acts of the past three decades, despite their rare entrance into the mainstream music scene. According to Billboard Boxscore, Phish has generated $175,541,923 in concert grosses and sold 5,842,789 tickets to 475 shows since 1989.
