New Album and Tour for No Doubt in 2009

After five years apart, No Doubt will return with a new album and tour in 2009, according to the band’s official website.The album will be No Doubt’s first since 2001’s Rock Steady and the band, minus Gwen Stefani who just had her second child with husband Gavin Rosdale, has already started work on a forthcoming album. “I think if we go out on tour it will inspire us to write. I need to see fans out there,” Stefani said on the site. Bassist Tony Kanal echoed Stefani’s thoughts saying, “I think playing the shows would make the studio time even better. No Doubt is reportedly working with Mark “Spike” Stent who helmed the production on some songs from Rock Steady as well as Stefani’s first solo effort, Love. Angel. Music. Baby.

No details regarding exact tour dates have been revealed but fans will be clamoring to see the band return after a five-year hiatus in which Stefani has gone on to have a successful solo career in music and clothing design.
