Michael Jackson Takes a Trip to Court
The King of pop finds him self in royally hot water these days with Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain. The son of the Arab monarch is alleging that Jackson took $7 million for an advance on an album as well as an autobiography that he never produced. Jackson maintains that he believed the money was simply intended as a gift..albeit a very generous gift! The collaboration came about when Al Khalifa spoke to Michael Jackson by telephone during the infamous child molestation charges. The royal wanted to work with the pop star on rebuilding his career, to which he spent millions on Jackson’s legal fees as well as other notable expenses for the singer.
There was no doubt that Jackson and the sheikh became close and Jackson no doubt needed help when his finances fell apart after he was arrested in 2003 over molestation charges. A jury later cleared him, but he was hurt financially, recently having to give up the deed on Neverland, a miniature amusement park for kids located in California.
