Marilyn Manson might come to your door if you blog about him
Just like an urban legend told by high school age bloggers, if you write something negative about Marilyn Manson on the Internet, you might just summon him out of whatever lair broken-down shock artists go to when their time has passed. That’s what he apparently wrote on his Web site recently, at any rate, saying, “If one more ‘journalist’ makes a cavailier statement about me and my band, I will personally or with my fans’ help greet them at their home and discover just how much they believe in their freedom of speech. I dare you all to write one more thing that you won’t say to my face. Because I will make you say it. In that manner. That is a threat.”
What he defines as a cavalier statement is a little vague, of course. The Quietus seems to take the threat in stride, pointing out that they have certainly earned the wrath of Brian Warner with their last interview with him. It’s actually a rather compelling read. Good writing, and the writer in question knows when to take a rock star seriously and when not to.
The artist is on tour now, so get concert tickets when you can.
