George Strait lullabies deemed “least essential album”

Ah, the sweet sounds of George Strait. Few country stars have achieved the kind of fame and recognition that he has, and his traditional country continues to charm fans all over the country. Even small fans. Fans who aren’t old enough to buy tickets to his shows.

For them, there is Hushabye Baby: Lullaby Renditions of George Strait. Featuring a charming, patriotic farm scene on the cover and a horse wearing a hat, this is the country album your children have been looking for. It’s also the second album on the A.V. Club’s list of the least essential albums of 2008, coming in just after Whitesnake’s Good to be Bad (which takes home “Least essential album by a band that’s just a band because the leader singer still owns the right to its name). Also listed is Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement—Special Edition, also known as the Barack Obama soundtrack, and Journey’s new album. Yep, Journey is still putting out albums.

While these albums may be inessential, George Strait is certainly essential to those who love country. Get George Strait tickets before they sell out. Concert tickets can be found at StubHub.com.
