Davis’ Near-Death Experience Inspires New Album
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has said that the bands upcoming album was inspired, in many ways, by Davis’ own stint in the hospital on the eve of the band’s Download 2006 appearance, which rendered Davis unable to perform for the appearance. Hospitalized with idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura, a disease that makes it hard for suffers to from blood clots and therefore to stop bleeding on their own, Davis claims he almost died. Understandably, this near-death experience has given the frontman a new take on life, both his own and the general idea of what life is. It is these ideas that had been playing on his mind as he worked on material for the bands new album.
The somber effect that Davis’ hospitalization had on his outlook towards the group’s upcoming album is tempered with the joys and hopes that Davis felt regarding what his life was, including his joy with being in Korn and his love for his children. All these elements promise to come togehter to create a very powerful album, so make sure you check it out.
