Billy Corgan will not be taking the H1N1 vaccine
Billy Corgan has surprised us lately with a broad range of many fine opinions, ranging from spirituality to how he feels about his critics. The latest well thought out missive of his involves the H1N1 virus vaccine, which he has informed everyone (well, everyone who reads his ongoing blog, Everything From Here to There) he will not be taking. There are reasons for him to suspect, he says, that the virus is actually man-made, a conclusion he has reached by reading the reports of unspecified doctors.
Also, and this is crucial, he is opposed to all the pressure everyone is receiving to take the virus rather than allowing things to naturally take their course. From Pitchfork: “The idea that the government can require anyone to take the vaccine, thus robbing us of our ability to choose how we die, also bothers Corgan: ‘If the virus comes to take me Home, that is between me and the Lord.’”
Well said, Billy. He does warn you that he isn’t a doctor or scientific professional, so don’t take his word for it. Take our word for it, though: If he goes back on tour, you’ll be able to find concert tickets at StubHub.com.
