Beck’s new album reviewed
If you’ve been following the press for it, you’re probably looking forward to Beck’s newest release, which, it’s been well publicized, has been produced by DJ Dangermouse. Modern Guilt is sure to be a hot seller in record stores, considering how fanatical Beck fans can be about the eclectic musician’s work.
So many fans will be pleased to see that The Allmusic Blog nabbed a copy of the new album and has already posted a fresh review. Expect it to be a darker album than Beck’s recent releases, they say, with DJ Dangermouse being the perfect man in the studio to enhance those qualities. They describe it thusly: “this is a deft tapestry of drum loops, tape splices, and chugging guitars pitched halfway between new wave and Sonic Youth. This may not brood but it’s impossible to deny its heaviness, either in its tone or its lyrics.”
You can bet fans will be enjoying these songs at live shows, but concert tickets will go fast. Get Beck tickets at Stubhub.com.
