Britney to Hit the Road in 2009

Britney Spears will set out on her first arena tour in five years next spring in support of her latest album, Circus. The “Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour will begin in New Orleans March 3 and the Pussycat Dolls will support Spears. The pop star will start rehearsals for the tour next month with longtime choreographer Wade Robinson and after the North American leg of the tour (which runs through April 28 in Chicago), Spears will cross the pond to play London’s O2 arena June 3-4. Circus was released today, the pop star’s 27th birthday, via Jive and the album’s first single, “Womanizer,” is already setting records for biggest jump to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 after rocketing 96-1.
