Bo Diddley Hospitalized

One of the original architects of rock ‘n’ roll, Bo Diddley, has suffered a stroke and is currently in intensive care recovering. Having suffered the stroke in Western Iowa during a concert, the 78-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist and rock-n-roll Hall of Fame member was listed in guarded condition at the Breighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, where he is currently being cared for.

With a history of hypertension and diabetes, Diddley was hospitalized Sunday following a concert in which he acted disoriented during a concert in Council Bluffs. Tests have revealed that the stroke affected the left part of Diddley’s brain, impairing his speech and speech recognition, but there are no other details available at this time. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and having received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1998, this rocker has never stopped going.
