A Halloween scare: The most hideous Lil Wayne-themed cake you have ever seen

Halloween is a time our culture sets aside for us to be safely creeped out, but the Internet does that for us year round. Pitchfork seems to have had rather good timing, though, posting an image of a truly horrifying cake just before All Hallow’s Eve. Here’s the link, and don’t say we didn’t warn you. It’s supposed to be Lil Wayne (or “Wade,” as the band-aid on his cheek helpfully says), and it’s actually a fairly decent recreation of his face, head, tats and even hair (made out of licorice whips—ingenious!). But because cake is a medium that doesn’t allow for the same level of detail as, say, oil painting, it kind of looks like his face is a bit…distorted.

Here’s the kicker: There’s a little heart on it that reads, “Happy Birthday, Ireland!” The cake is dedicated to Ireland Basinger-Baldwin, the daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger, but we’d like to think it’s actually dedicated to the entire nation of Ireland. What country wouldn’t be honored with a cake shaped into a faithful recreation of Lil Wayne’s visage? This is truly a great gift.
