T.I. pays his bills with $8,000 check

AP reports that rapper T.I. finally got around to paying for a law bill for the mother of his two songs, claiming that the missed payment was “a clerical error, totally innocent.” He’s paying the bills as part of an ongoing child support case, but apparently forgot to continue doing so in November. Here’s the deal, according to AP:

“The two-time Grammy winner was ordered in September to pay more than $3,000 a month to Dixon — to whom he had been paying about $2,000 per month — as well as the boys’ private school tuition, uninsured medical bills and expenses related to their extracurricular activities. T.I. and Dixon are still negotiating child support and custody of the boys, ages 7 and 8. He also has two sons with his fiancee, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, of the defunct R&B group Xscape.”

That’s a long running deal. You can bet with all that T.I. is spending, he’ll have to recoup the money somehow. That means more touring, and thus more concert tickets available for you. Get T.I. tickets at StubHub.com.

Antony of Antony and the Johnsons is now a visual artist

Antony and the Johnsons is probably best known in indie circles as a cult band—albeit one that is fiercely loved by its fans. But Antony Hegarty, the lead singer of the band, is about to expand his resume, adding visual artist to his abilities. A couple examples of his work are displayed on Pitchfork today, along with some information and helpful links about his first exhbit. The exhibition, called The Creek, will be available at the Isis Gallery in London from Jan. 17 to Feb. 28. The work has an ethereal quality to it, and the gallery draws comparisons to sketches done by William S. Burroughs and Antonin Artaud.

From the site: “Antony’s artworks open up dream landscapes: often fragmentary in appearance, these images map his dreams and liminal states; polymorphic realms give way to indicated spirits; pen marks and scratches conjure archetypes and invite conscious and unconscious visions to emerge.”

That’s all very well if you live in England. But if you’re looking to see (and hear) Antony, you’ll need concert tickets for someplace closer. Get Antony and the Johnsons tickets at StubHub.com.

Phish Reunion Tour Coming Together

After five years away from the road, Phish’s upcoming tour is coming together, although an official announcement is still pending. A Jan 20 on-sale date for a June 18 Phish show at the Post-Gazette Pavilion just outside Pittsburgh is listed on LiveNation.com and the performance would position the band perfectly to play at Bonnaroo the previous weekend in Manchester, Tenn.

Currently the only confirmed Phish shows are March 6-8 at Hamtpon Coliseum in Hampton, Va. The performance will be the band’s first since August 2004 and Phish-heads will be snatching up tickets to see the iconic jam band as more concert dates are revealed.

Are you a Phish fan? Get your Phish tickets to see the band back on the road at StubHub.com.
