Oberst goes on world tour

July 17, 2008

Bright Eyes fans have been hoarding Conor Oberst tickets as of late, as the singer/songwriter prepares for his first solo jaunt in a long while. It appears it will be quite a long jaunt–he’ll be going on world tour, starting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, then heading through South America and Canada (with a brief stop in Montana) before hitting the states.

Concert tickets to his shows are well stocked at Stubhub.com, but it’s not clear how long they’ll stay that way. Oberst has a fervent fanbase, which happens quite naturally when you’re a performer that gives so much of yourself during performances, and writes music as stunning and moving as his.

He’s not touring completely alone, however. With him is the Mystic Valley Band, a backing band named after the place in Mexico where they recorded their first album. Opening acts include Jenny Lewis and Evangelicals.
