Bright Eyes fans have been hoarding Conor Oberst tickets as of late, as the singer/songwriter prepares for his first solo jaunt in a long while. It appears it will be quite a long jaunt–he’ll be going on world tour, starting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, then heading through South America and Canada (with a brief stop in Montana) before hitting the states.
Concert tickets to his shows are well stocked at Stubhub.com, but it’s not clear how long they’ll stay that way. Oberst has a fervent fanbase, which happens quite naturally when you’re a performer that gives so much of yourself during performances, and writes music as stunning and moving as his.
He’s not touring completely alone, however. With him is the Mystic Valley Band, a backing band named after the place in Mexico where they recorded their first album. Opening acts include Jenny Lewis and Evangelicals.
If you weren’t aware of the online rumors that Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and his collaborator on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, Brian Eno, were going to be touring together, then this won’t hurt as much.
Byrne is currently on tour (and David Byrne tickets are going quickly), and three of his dates included “with Brian Eno.” According to Pitchfork, the insinuation is that he’ll be playing Bush tracks or other songs he’s collaborated on with the infamous electronic music wizard. They’ll still be good shows, if only for the material Byrne will be playing. Regardless, fans who have already bought concert tickets are sure to be crossing their fingers and hoping for a special guest to appear at these shows.
Tickets are available at Stubhub.com.
When you’re the music scene’s hot new band, and indie rock listeners across the country are signing your praises (or bashing you when a backlash starts up), that’s the time to ask yourself whether fans would appreciate more concert tickets.
Vampire Weekend has asked themselves this question, and the answer is yes. According to Pitchfork, they’re extending their tour, adding more U.S. dates in September and a full tour through the U.K. British fans, head over to Stubhub.com and start looking for Vampire Weekend tickets.
There’s just a few dates added to the U.S. schedule (including Pitchfork’s own Music Festival), but they include a few places bands tend to overlook. Honolulu, HI’s Pipeline Cafe, that means you.
Toronto, Pemberton and Seattle also have tour dates to look forward to.
Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page is determined to set the record straight after he was picked up by policemen in Fayetteville, New York on drug related charges. He is fighting the charge of cocaine possession and on the band’s website a statement reads: “Steven has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and the validity of the charges against Steven will be strongly contested.” The singer has currently posted $10,000 bail and his next court date is scheduled for sometime in August.
Barenaked Ladies is widely known for their hits such as “Brian Wilson,” “One Week” and “If I Had a Million Dollars.” They also just recently released their first debut children’s album called Snacktime. Make sure to keep up with all of the latest news regarding Steven Page and the band and when they start to tour, make sure that you are one of the first fans to get a pair of Barenaked Ladies tickets.
