Jack Johnson: World’s mellowest man?
Anyone who loves Jack Johnson’s music knows the easy, laid-back feeling that accompanies it. His soft voice and lyrics remind you more of good times at the beach or a lazy Sunday with friends than anything else.
But is Johnson the world’s most mellow musician? So spake the BBC in this charming profile of the artist. He does come across as ingratiatingly down-to-earth and approachable, and doesn’t seem the least encumbered by ego, as other internationally renown musicians sometimes do. How perfect that this great artist is touring right now.
If you love his music—or even casually enjoy it—consider getting some Jack Johnson tickets. Concert tickets are available on Stubhub.com.

Scott Weiland Goes to Jail!
Scott Weiland, the rocker who has enjoyed a long career with the likes of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver is now facing his harshest critic - the law. (You guys like that one?) Sadly, Scott Weiland has been sentenced to jail time for a DUI, receiving eight days in jail. Weiland pleaded no contest to misdemeanor drunk driving charges and entered the plea thorugh his attorney. Weiland was also sentence to four years probation and is being instructed to take part in an 18-month long alcohol program.
Not too shabby considering how many run-ins with the law the performer has had, and how many illicit substances Weiland has imbibed thorughout his long career. Still, it may take a little time for Weiland to get his career back in order as he was recently booted from Velvet Revolver. For all this and more news, make sure you check out Stubhub.com for all the latest info!
Not all RJD2 fans are happy
There’s this silly thing fans do when they really, really love an artist. If he or she does the same shtick over and over again, it gets old, and they’re lambasted for being unoriginal. But then if they explore new ground—like hip-hop/electronic artist RJD2 has been doing recently—then they complain because they want to hear the old stuff.
City Pages has a concert review of one of RJD2’s recent shows, at the end of which one unruly former fan yelled “Tell him to go back to making hip-hop records.” If you haven’t been following RJD2’s musical progress, his most recent albums have ventured more into electronic instrumental territory, or have traded rap for softer, plaintive vocals. It’s a different kind of music, to be sure, and definitely not for everybody. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t good.
Whatever your preference is, his live shows sounds very, very entertaining (how can you not love a show with video projections of Evil Dead or Hard Boiled?) There’s plenty of shows coming up, so anyone looking for concert tickets had best make those RJD2 tickets. Check Stubhub.com for tour dates.
