Roisin Murphy Injured!

Roisin Murphy, the Irish electronica singer/songwriter had to cancel part of her mainland European tour due to a fall that hurt her head during her October 27 show at Moscow’s Ikra Club. The details of this incident aren’t clear, but it is clear that Roisin Murphy was hurt and in a related decision the upcoming concerts needed to be quit. Understandably, this event has saddened fans who were looking forward to seeing Roisin Murphy perform live.

Within this event, Roisin Murphy fell when she slipped while dancing and ran into a chair wherein she severely damaged her eye socket. Understadnably she was raced straight to a Moscow hospital for emergency treatment and she flew to the United Kingdom the next morning. An operation was preformed on the singer under general anaesthetic to repair the damages to her eye and eyebrow. Luckily, in spite of a serious concussion and the loss of a lot of blood, Roisin Murphy is fine.

Porter Wagoner Has Died

Porter Wagoner, the rhinestone-waring Grand Olde Opry star performer who helped to launch the career of such great artists as Dolly Parton by hiring her as his duet partner, has died. Wagoner passed on this past Sunday, October 28, 2007 at 8:25 p.m. at the age of 80.

Having survived an abdominal aneurysm in 2006, Wagoner was hospitalized again this month and his publicist revealed that he had lung cancer. With such a great career, you can imagine how surely Wagoner will be missed by his numerous friends and family members in addition to this adoring fans.
