After all the hype that the Scottish quartet Sh*tdisco was going to be embarking upon a tour, an announcement that got the band’s many fans very excited and eager to get out there and secure themselves seats at what would be sure to be an amazing night of great music, the quartet has cancelled that very same tour.
The tour was cancelled after band member Joel Stone was admitted to the hospital after becoming violently ill, according to teh group’s maangement as the informaiton was released in a statement. To be sure, Sh*tdisco deeply regrets teh fact that they have had to cancel their upcoming tour of the United States and Canada but obviously the health of a band member is important. Well, the verdict in the Phil Spector murder case has been handed down. The music producer to end all music producers, who created the so-called Wall of Sound phenomenon and has been behind some of the greatest songs in pop music history, was on trial for allegedly murdering a young actress by the name of Lana Clarkson more than 4 1/2 years ago.
At the end of this trial, the jury was deadlocked at a 10-2 decision in favor of convicting Spector of killing Lana Clarkson which resulted in a mistrial. However te edistrict attorney’s office announced that it will seek to retry Spector in this case wherein the jury was unable to come to any definitive conclusion regarding Spector’s guilt or innocence.
The months of trial that led up to this mistrial left jurors to figure out who had pulled the trigger of a revolver that went off in Lana Clarkson’s mouth about 5 am on February 3, 2003, with no fingerprints at all. The jury itself had met for 44 hours over the ocurse of 12 days since getting the case on September 10, 2007.
