Pitchfork Music Festival News!

Yoko Ono has agreed to the Pitchfork Music Festival that will kick off July 13 with the North American premiere of “Don’t Look Back,” a concert concept that began at the U.K. Festival “All Tomorrow’s Parties.”

Joining a slew of indie acts that include Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Clipse, De La Soul, Grizzly Bear, New Pornographers, Or Montreal, Klaxons and Menomena at the three-day festival, Yoko Ono is cashing in on her own new found surge of popularity thanks to the release of a pair of projects that revisit her own musical legacy. With an amazing number of bands playing each night of this festival, the first night will feature such groups as Wu-Tang Clan’s The GZA (Liquid Swords), Slint (Spiderland), and Sonic Youth (Daydream Nation) as well as some of the indie music scene kids with great buzz surrounding them, including Iron & Wine, Girl Talk and Battles.

Diana Krall on Tour!

Diana Krall, that jazz chanteuse who of late has been taking time out of her busy career to spend time with her husband, Elvis Costello and their two boys who were born last December, has announced a U.S. tour for the summer of 2007!

Fans of Krall could not be more excited, and it will be extra-interesting to note that this tour will be split between performances by the Diana Krall Quartet and with her talents co-headlining shows with trumpet aficionado Chris Botti which will take place on several multi-night stands. Kicking off in Oakland, California, Krall will play 30 concerts at various venues around the country, including the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis, Massachusetts, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado and the Ravinia Festival in Highland Park, Illinois among a slew of others.

Additionally, Krall will be joined by The Clayton/Hamilton Jazz Orchestra - which was featured on Krall’s latest album, From This Moment On – at both of her Las Vegas concerts at the Hilton Hotel and at her Los Angeles dates at the Hollywood Bowl. White Stripes Tour!

The White Stripes have announced that they will embark on a tour of the United States starting on July 22 after touring Canada and Europe. While in the United States, this musical group will play 16 states that they have yet to visit throughout their career, as they want to hit every state in the U.S. and not leave anyone out, rather than just hitting the most well-known venues in specific states over and over again. Within this 16-state tour, this band will also do a limited number of performances in New York City and Boston.

Before hitting the United States, the first leg of the White Stripes concerts tour will cover the eastern seaboard and run into the South> The White Stripes’ tour of Canada will include 10 provinces as well as the Yukon, Nunavut and Northwest Territories, and the band will play a few European festival shows. Additionally, the White Stripes will also make a stop at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 17.

It was announced today, Friday, April 20, 2007, that the Family Values Tour, co-headlined by Korn and Evanescence will kick off on July 20 in St. Louis and will finish up the summer on September 2 in Irvine, California. Other acts on the tour include Atreyu, Flyleaf, Hellyeah (featuring members of Pantera and Mudvayne), and Trivium, and additional bands and details are expected, and will be announced, in the future.

A band comprised of singer/bassist Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland, The Police shot to fame in the early 1980s, playing a rock style that was heavily influenced by both reggae-styles and punk music. The band’s 1983 release, Synchronicity went platinum 8 times in the U.S. The band broke up in the mid-1980’s and are still one of the most famous bands of the 1980’s in spite of having been together for only a handful of years before branching off into independent projects. 2007 is their first tour since the break-up, and they will also be playing the Live Earth concert in July 2007.

The opening act of Daddy Yankee’s concert tour will be the eight-year-old reggaeton artist known as Miguelito, who is signed to Daddy Yankee’s El Cartel Label. With this incredible artist playing such cities as Boston, New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Las Vegas among others, and tickets ranging from $40 to $100, everyone should take this chance to see Daddy Yankee live!
