Joel and John Reschedule Dates

As many had anticipated, Billy Joel and Elton John have announced the new dates for all of the shows they have postponed because of illness. Few expected that they would cancel the dates completely, as they are always concerned about fans’ experiences. Their show that was supposed to take place in Portland at the Rose Garden Arena on November 10 will not take place on February 10, 2010.

Their show that was supposed to be in Salt Lake City at the EnergySolutions Arena on November 20 will not be on February 19. Their show in Denver on November 22 has been rescheduled for February 20 at the Pepsi Center. The show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City that was supposed to take place on December 1 will now be on February 27.

For each show, the original tickets for the show will be honored at the new dates. Also, anyone who cannot make the new dates or wants a refund will be able to get those as well. Other dates that have been rescheduled have resulted in new tickets for sale because of a few fans excepting the refunds, so fans should keep an eye out for Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Another Show Postponed

It seems as though fans will have to wait a little longer to see Billy Joel and Elton John take the stage together.  Joel and John were set to take their popular Face 2 Face tour to Salt Lake City, Utah, tomorrow (November 20). That show, though, has suffered a similar fate as other recent shows and has been postponed, according to ABC News 4.

Although the show has been postponed, it hasn’t been revealed what the reason is. Earlier shows were postponed because John was ill with the flu and E. coli. As soon as he got better, Joel had medical issues that still haven’t been revealed, which led to another show being postponed. Since John has been making public appearances lately, this show’s postponement was likely because of whatever Joel is suffering from.

Joel and John are known for putting on an amazing show, and it has to be a pretty serious illness if they are postponing dates. They postponed dates in the summer because of an illness to Joel, and those were made up. These are likely to be made up as well. See him play near you with Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Clarkson Touring Partner Channels Joel

Think no one makes music like Billy Joel anymore? While that may be partly true, one young musician is looking to bring back some of the classic sounds of artists like Joel. His name is Eric Hutchinson, and he is currently on tour with American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson. He is currently touring all over North America with Clarkson, drawing comparisons to the greats from decades ago.

He said, “I’m influenced by a lot of the older acts for sure, the Beatles, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, Billy Joel—artists who have an entire body of work, not just a random song. I’m really interested in writing an entire album, which is the way it used to be.”

If Hutchinson wants to know how to have an amazing live performance, he should study the stage antics of Joel as well as his music. Joel has impressed fans all over with his tour with Elton John, the Face 2 Face tour. Right now, the two musicians have been fighting illnesses, but fans are hoping they will be back on tour again soon. See them live with Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

John Steps Out in Public

Billy Joel may be under the weather, but his touring partner, Elton John, is showing that he is finally over his bout with the flu and E. coli. John recently stepped out in public for his Aids Foundation benefit in New York.  It was a star-studded event, as guests included Daniel Craig, Sharon Stone, Courtney Love and Tony Bennett.

While there, he commented on his health and said, “It’s the first time I’ve been in bed for about nine days in the whole of my life. Except for maybe when I had my tonsils out. So, I was alright. I had a good rest. I didn’t expect it. The worst thing was having to cancel shows. I hate that. But I’m back on my feet and I’m bouncing around now.”

Billy Joel and Elton John are favorites to perform together. Joel still hasn’t revealed what medical condition is keeping him from taking the stage tonight, but hopefully they will be able to be back on stage together soon. Their show features both performing hits together as well as each having a solo set to play their well-known hits. Be there to hear the hits live by getting Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Joel’s Turn to Postpone Dates Because of Health

Lately, a few dates of the Face 2 Face tour starring Elton John and Billy Joel were postponed because of John’s illness. Now, however, it is Joel whose health is postponing dates. Their concert tomorrow (November 17) in San Jose, California, at the HP Pavilion has been postponed because of undisclosed “medical reasons.”

A statement was posted on John’s website, part of which read, “Organizers of the concert are working to establish a new concert date. All patrons who have purchased tickets for the Face2Face concert scheduled for November 17 at the HP Pavilion are being asked to hold on to their tickets until more information is available regarding the proposed rescheduled engagement. Both Billy Joel and Elton are disappointed to be postponing the November 17 concert, and are looking forward to announcing a new concert date, once the availabilities have been worked out by all parties.”

Joel will probably reveal soon what his “medical reasons” are, but for now we can only guess. John was suffering from the flu as well as E. coli, and flu season had definitely arrived. Joel tends to bounce back quickly, so make sure to get your Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

It’s False! Joel NOT Dating Twain

Another dating rumor for Billy Joel? Yes, and this one has him linked to one of the most well-known names in all of country music. The National Enquirer revealed that Billy Joel was dating Shania Twain, but it turns out it is has something in common with nearly every other National Enquirer story: it is false. Twain’s rep revealed to Extra the “story is not true.” In fact, Twain is supposedly dating Frédéric Thiébaud and Joel has been linked to Deborah Dampiere.

It’s too bad, as Twain and Joel have each had top hits in their respective fields. Twain is known for her hits like “Any Man of Mine,” “No One Needs to Know,” “You’re Still the One,” “Honey, I’m Home,” “Come On Over” and “Party for Two.”

Joel, in turn, has found success with hits like “Piano Man,” “She’s Always a Woman,” “Don’t Ask Me Why,” “Tell Her About It,” “The Longest Time,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “I Go to Extremes” and “The River of Dreams.”

Joel is waiting for his touring partner Elton John to feel better before they hit the stage again, and when they do, get your Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

John Still Not Well Enough to Perform

This Saturday was supposed to mark Elton John’s big return to the stage after fighting the flu as well as an e-coli bacterial infection, but fans will have to wait a little longer. John had already postponed three dates of his popular Face 2 Face tour with Billy Joel, and the November 14th show at Oakland, California’s Oracle Arena has also been postponed.

On Elton John’s website, a statement was posted, a portion of which read, “Organizers of the event are working to establish a new date. All patrons who have purchased tickets for the Face2Face concert on Saturday November 14 are being asked to hold on to their tickets until more information is available regarding the proposed rescheduled engagement.”

Joel also had to postpone concerts because of an illness in the summer, but the dates were eventually made up. These postponed dates are also likely to be made up, as both Joel and John are known for keeping their countless fans happy with their live performances. When they do return to stage, their shows are going to be incredibly popular. Fans can get their Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Joel’s Daughter Rising to Fame

Some may guess that is was Billy Joel’s early life experiences that turned him into a successful singer songwriter. It may be more accurate, however, to say that the talent is genetic. As proof, his daughter Alexa Ray Joel is showing her own talent as a singer songwriter. Her sound is quite different from her famous dad’s, but the emotive lyrics show she takes after his lyrical style.

In an article about her recent single, one reviewer wrote, “Alexa Ray Joel never wanted to simply be famous because of her superstar folks, so for the past few years she’s been learning the ropes as a singer-songwriter. With her new single, ‘Invisible,’ though, she seems ready to step into the spotlight. The piano-driven ballad, which she recently debuted on The Wendy Williams Show, about a bad breakup, gives her a chance to show off her powerful, distinctive voice as well as her songwriting abilities.”

Alexa Ray is the daughter of Joel and his supermodel ex-wife Christie Brinkley, although Alexa looks much more like Joel than Brinkley. Perhaps she will find the same following as her famous dad. See him live by getting your pair of Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Joel Makes Sesame Street List

The favorite children’s television show Sesame Street is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, which is causing many to take a look back at some of the most memorable times from the past four decades. The St. Petersburg Times had many different Top Five lists. One of the lists is the Top Five Musicians. The Piano Man Billy Joel made that list, and the article explained its selection by saying, “As deaf Oscar winner Marlee Matlin signs, Joel sings a version of ‘Just the Way You Are’ to Oscar the Grouch.”

The other musicians on the list were Lena Horne, R.E.M., Stevie Wonder and Trisha Yearwood. The Top Five actors to make the list were Henry Winkler, Julia Roberts, Christopher Reeve, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Laurence Fishburne.

Most of Joel’s fan base may be adults, but that doesn’t mean that youngsters won’t enjoy his songs too. In fact, young fans discover the top classic work of Joel all the time. He is known for hits like “Piano Man,” “She’s Always a Woman,” “The Longest Time,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me” and “Uptown Girl.” Hear all of your favorites by getting Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.

Elton Back Home After Bout with E Coli and Flu

Billy Joel is likely celebrating today. The Piano Man seems to immensely enjoy getting up on stage to entertain fans, but his partner-in-touring, Sir Elton John, came down with the flu and E. coli and had to be hospitalized. The illness also meant that a few Face 2 Face tour shows had to be postponed. Now, the Rocket Man is back home and out of the hospital. His spokesperson, Gary Farrow, revealed that John was feeling much better. Farrow also said that John and Joel would take the stage together again on November 14, which is their tour date in Oakland, California.

On top of the dates with Joel, John also had to postpone solo dates in the U.K. and Ireland. Those dates will be rescheduled in December, and the dates in Seattle and Portland with Joel will also be rescheduled. This isn’t the first postponement for the Face 2 Face tour, as Joel’s illness earlier this year in July also caused a postponement. Compared to other veteran musicians, however, Joel and John stay relatively healthy. Heck, even Miley Cyrus had to postpone concerts this year because of an illness. Once they are back on the road, get your Billy Joel tickets from StubHub.
