Kings X are a 3 piece rock back originally from Texas, USA. Variously described as Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Grunge, Kings X have influenced a number of musicians, most natably, Jeff Ament the bassist from Pearl Jam.
They are known for guitar riff driven rock with Ty Tabor (Guitar) and Doug Pinnick (Bass) sharing lead vocal duties and Jerry Gaskill (Drums) providing backing vocals. Numerous songs contain complex 3 part harmonies, strongly reminiscent of Ty Tabor's primary influence, The Beatles.
Another large feature of their sound is downtuned guitars and heavily distorted bass guitars (included Doug Pinnick's signature instrument, the 12 string bass guitar)
