Galactic is a five-piece "jazz-funk-rock fusion" band from New Orleans, Louisiana.

As of the end of 2007 the group has released seven albums and played throughout Europe, Japan, and all across the United States. After their vocalist, Theryl "Houseman" DeClouet, left in 2004, the band refocused on instrumental works. Their most recent album, 2007's From the Corner to the Block, features a number of prominent MC's such as Lyrics Born, Gift of Gab, Chali 2na, and Lateef the Truthspeaker.
